  • When I first saw the ending to this, I was sooooo shocked that EVERYONE literally died. I guess they wanted to continue the twist endings, and it's brilliant.

  • Yeah, because a nuclear bomb only kills the people in the room when it detonates. Anyone outside the room was totally safe.

  • uh, he killed the entire planet, he gets infinity for that

  • No not 16 what about the other apes in the villages and possibly more other things so you get a number of 47,000

  • Is there a reason he's only in like the last 10 mins the movie really needed him.

  • @brad192944

Probably his fees, Charlton Heston was a big name back then, his screentime probably didn't come cheap.

  • I was shocked the first time i saw this lol

  • notice how ape like Heston's hand looks when he pushes the doomsday button.

  • more than that he destroyed the whole planet

  • Nova should've just stayed put, would've survived a few min more lol..

  • didn't he kill everyone on earth? (minus 3)

  • @ethanradd Yeah he did. O.o

  • excelente charllton heston..

  • Heston was a zionist shill.

    See..

    iamthewitness. c o m

  • Actually, the idea to blow up the earth at the end was Heston's. He did NOT want to do a sequel and, wary of any other sequels, thought that by destroying the earth with an atom bomb, that would be the end of it all. However, the movie made money so a few apes had to survive.

  • Stupid

  • LOL @"damn you all to hell!" tacked onto the end. Just imagine the reactions of the audience back in 1970 when they left the cinema/theatre after seeing such a shocking, depressing and grim ending. :D

  • charleton heston's bigger then chuck norris himself

  • Could've added all kills in the movie just by adding Brent's death instead. :P

  • 00:26 My reaction to the people who made the remake

  • He kills everyone on Earth, so the bodycount should possible be in the billions.

  • not up to the orginal.. but far better the all the other sequels (except of course the excellent current rise of the planet wh/ nearly rivals the orginal). its rewatchable. more then can be said about burton's flick.

HUMANOS...!!!

  • No studio today would have the balls to end a big box office franchise movie with the destruction of the entire planet!

  • @thorgak Yeah, they would usually give it a happy ending.

  • No studio today would have the balls to end a big box office franchise movie with the destruction of the entire planet!

  • and this is rated G

  • @Dagaman64 I know right lol

  • I love the original Planet of the Apes series (first 5 movies) cuz they were all made during the time when we struggles through Vietnam & a new social culture and also based on a book that I think is a must read (the book version makes the Tim Burton remake make more sense btw) but I understand the position of letting humanity die here and not infecting the rest of the universe, having it be a poison, I like how it makes us all think within ourselves if we can hope for better, I hope we can.

  • See what MULTICULTURALISM DOES?

  • I wonder why they used the term insignificant planet at the end narration? Since Earth is the only planet proven to have life, then what planets rank higher?

  • @pepjrp The begining states that there are countless of millions of galaxies. One planet in the universe is insignificant. It implies of life on another planet.

  • @pepjrp

Because the planet has never made, nor in reality or in the movie, an impact outside of the planet. So the only significance it has is to itself.

  • ...wow no hope.

  • @funnguns Maybe it was a warning for today?

  • Awesome movie.

  • YOUUUUUU BLOODYYY BASTARD...... LOL

  • Very cool but yes a whole planet of apes where killed too, maybe a few 100,000 who knows. That first kill is great. Plus Nova dies and she the hotest chick on that planet lol. Heston deserves an Oscar for this and the way Bret dies is killer. This movie deserves more credit for the acting, directing and story and mabe one of the best endings in a sci fi ever, in my opinion anyway.

  • 16? Blows the earth up much much more.

  • I wish I could detonate the bomb in real life. :-(

  • @PaultheSmallAnomaly why would you want to detonate such a terrible weapon?

  • @thegodofwar2000 Because I wouldn't and was just vent talking. I'm mellowing out, don't worry.

  • @PaultheSmallAnomaly maybe you will one day, maybe you will.

  • @bazzatheblue ROFL! encouraging words? I'll make sure never to give up on my dreams. ;P

Charlie was a great actor, wasn't he?

  • @PaultheSmallAnomaly thats the spirit,if you want to blow planet earth to atoms you have to beleive it can really happen, keep at it.i am rooting for you.

    And yes chuck was great.

  • @bazzatheblue LOL! Just for that comment I have to learn about King Edmund. :)

  • Awesome!

  • LOL, that was awesome! Loved how you had the end narration be in the credits followed by Heston's infamous line.

  • Cool. Remember having seen this one a long time ago. I gotta rewatch it someday.
