I carry outside the waist band at 2:30 while in the vehicle...between the belt loops... this also works for me outside the vehicle with a shirt draped over....
When I'm wearing cargo pants/shorts (maybe 75% of the time, work included), I transition from front-right pocket to right-cargo pocket (KT PF9). That gives what I think is my best access, stability and security. I don't cargo-carry any other time due to the "flop-factor". When wearing non-cargos or jeans, it's in the center console. Great options and, as always, great vid!
Another plus for the shoulder bag carry. In the driver's seat, I put on the belt & swing the bag over the belt so it rests between my thighs with the strap still around my shoulder & mags, flashlight, mirror, etc... in their usual place. U do need to practice drawing while still seated since the steering wheel is often in the way. Also, practice is needed to remove the seat belt without getting straps tangled. Lefties in the driver's seat & righties in the passenger seat is a little trickier .
We did cover limited mobility stuff on one of the TV shows earlier this year and it is something we are considering for a future DVD... keep watching PDN and we'll see if we can get some wheelchair/crutches tips up soon!
Great video Rob! Another method that works well in a lot of vehicles, especially trucks & SUV's where there is a bit more room, is the ankle holster.
Have you ever thought about doing some vids for people in wheelchairs? A lot of this applies for how to carry, but shooting techniques--especially for long guns (sling use, or no sling, for example)--could be both interesting & very helpful to those of us who go through life on wheels rather than feet!!! There are a lot of us out here.
I'm surprised magnets weren't covered. I use a gun magnet attached to the inside of my center console. They can be installed almost anywhere in a vehicle. Very versatile.
The Shoulder Holster works the best for me. I don't have that much experience with the Serpa, but enough other people do that I'm not likely to ever give the Serpa a chance. Kind of "Where there's enough smoke there has to be a little fire" type thinking.
I agree, the shoulder holster doesn't get the respect it deserves. I can't think of a better way to carry a large fighting handgun when on your feet while at the same time giving equally good access in a car.

That's a good idea using the cargo pockets as a car-only option. Mind if I "steal" it? ;-)
