Today's violinists don't play 'Jewish' enough (I'm not Jewish, but you know what I mean?) My teacher, from Holland (also not Jewish) would always say, "Play more Jewish...more Jewish!". I instinctively knew what he meant, and it was great advice.
Heifetz pictured on the Queen Mary - crossing the Atlantic. He only recorded this movement of the Ruralia Hungarica. What a shame he did not record it all, or is it lying in the vaults if RCA Victor, unpublished?
