airborn and jagoff....Now i'm floorborn laughing...Don't put the words jagoff and airborn together...Not a pretty picture...especially if that landed on your jewlrey.
@pdqcookin "Floorborn"? "Jewlrey"? You're quite the wordsmith. You reinforce my previous low opinion of those who sell kettle corn. Can't have an adult conversation about a serious issue, I see.
@hammaann because those kettle corn vendors are out there reeking havoc on innocent crafters daily....we must put a stop to this evil practice...I'm off to start a facebook page about the consequences of this poppery!
@pdqcookin "Suspension" might be a better word for it, since the oil isn't really reduced to "atoms". Exactly where do you think the oil goes during cooking? Why do you ever have to add more? Some of it stays on the popped corn, but a great deal of it goes airborn, jagoff.
Hi. I am a jewelry vendor at craft shows and fairs where Kettle corn is sold. I would like to come to some understanding about the damage your smoke/mist does to other people's wares. I just came from a show where I was about 50 feet from a Kettle Corn vendor. I ended up having a million small, shiny, specks of coagulated cooking oil spread across every single thing in my booth. Can you please inforn show promoters that you shouldn't be ANYWHERE NEAR vendors of art work and the like?!
@hammaann are you out of your mind? i pop corn too, you're right about the hot oil splashing everywhere but 50'???i would understand if you were right next to kettle corn vender but 50'????
@ptakoviny1 Nope. Not about "splashing" at all. It's about the oil which becomes airborne via atomization and travels downwind with the smoke/steam being released. I saw it deposited on things in people's booths which were much farther away than mine- up to maybe 100 feet downwind. You have to look on surfaces like glass to see the specks, but it gets deposited on EVEYTHING!
@hammaann wouldn't it be easier to just haul your hefty @ss 100 foot or so away from the kettle corn vendor...I mean not everyone can have such an AMAZING job of sitting home beading and making useless crap. Or may I also suggest getting yourself a bottle of coagulated cooking oil cleaner and a very small rag and get to polishing your nifty little items. Now turn that little frown upside down pumpkin! ;)
HEY , what is this white stuff on my jewelry?
