I do that drag a lot ever since I discovered ghost notes. I also do cleaner version of it, where it's just a double played as quietly as I can. So it's hihat, tap, tap, hihat.

Ghost notes take control... that's what I love about them. It's easy to play like a brute, but empty spaces and quiet notes are true skill.

I've been using this and double stroke rolls since I started playing. The guy who taught me pretty much drilled every rudiment in my head, but this, double stroke, and paradiddle are the ones I use the most.
