i was depressive and i'm a big grunge fan. i was tired to listen always the same songs, so i came to youtube and search "alone grunge" trying to find something. i found this adorable song that i never heard about. Now i'm happy =)
yeah i just downloaded downfaces confidence album and im assuming they are a side band which eddie veddar and layne staley created kinda like the lead singer of soundgarden did with temple of the dog no matter it is a great song by two of the best artists known
I remember being like 10 years old growing hearing about these rock legends dying young (Joplin, Morrison, Moon, Hendrix) and saying that would never happen to my generation. Now I'm 34 hearing about Layne and others leaving and its really burning me inside. Time changes but it really doesn't change!
@btl743 These guys are kids who doesn`t know so much about Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains. They can`t even hear the different in the color of the voice.
Ok ppl this is NOT AIC & or PJ this is a band called Downface..You guys really need to get your shit together b4 you start trying to comment on something...
The song "Alone" was performed Live at the Academy Theater in New York, NY on December 31, 1992. Its a song by performed by Abbruzzese, Ament, Gossard, McCready, Vedder.
Anyone who thinks this is ACTUALLY Pearl Jam and AiC is a fucking idiot. This is by a shitty ripoff band called Downface that released this vomit as PJ/AiC as a publicity stunt. Pearl Jam actually does have a song called "Alone", it was cut from Ten and released on Lost Dogs. It's a great song, give it a listen. Better than this crap.
@Tigerpuffer That's probably true, I saw this song with the title Tool and Creed - Alone and I gave it a listen. Oddly enough it sounded exactly the same so I'm fairly sure they are all downface. Still a pretty good song though, the lyrics speak to me.
@therealsix6six6six6: Yeah I'm thinking that someone close to this band is spreading it around on ---wire sites to try to get publicity, as it keeps appearing as different artists. It's funny because a real Pearl Jam/Alice in Chains collaboration would have been HUGE back in the day, and it never was. And I also find it funny that it comes up as Tool and Creed, because Tool would never play with a diehard Christian band :P
@Tigerpuffer Yeah, good song in it's own right but not layne or eddie which indeed woulda been pretty fuckin epic but we shall never know what that would sound like sadly.
go to their last.fm (I mean Downface) and read it... I doubt this is Staley or PJ, and as a big grunge era fan I can tell you for certain they have differences in vocals
Actually this song belongs to Downface, people always gets confused because of the voice I think,. But I repeat, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains has nothing to do with this song.
To all who thinks that William DuVall is not really right for AiC or that he sounds like Layne, he does sound like him, but for that i respect him for it. He doesn't try to turn the past songs into his own. I saw them in concert in Seattle, and he sang the songs the way Layne did, through the heart.
I'm not too sure about the new lead singer either...I'm going to see them live in Toronto tommorow. It's just wierd to me...it would be like nirvana getting a new singer and putting out new albums...not cool. But this song gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it...R.I.P. Layne. And Eddie Vedder...Yummmmm lol
I did not like the idea of having a new singer in a band like Alice but it is certain that their last album (Black Gives Way to Blue) was album of the year!
I don't know what to think about the new Alice n' Chains singer... just seems wrong... he sounds just like Layne... WTF... that's kinda disrespectful in a way...
@Tube23x its not disrespectful, look at journey their new singer sounds just like the original but its coming out of respect. its weird having someone else in aic for sure i love layne, but coming from the bands standpoint, it was a good decision to move forward and get a new singer.
this is one kick f**king ass song. the vocals are to damn good

I'm a huge fan of layne staley but I firmly believe that if the frontman of a band dies doesn't mean the whole band has to "die" too.
