LeAnn Rimes just showed she is the best female singer out there today. Period. Joss Stone is soulful but does not have the rich mellifluous sound that LeAnn's voice has. The stunning fact of the matter is LeAnn sounds like the soul queen here and unless a listener was advised (or knew) differently one would never guess this wasn’t her typical style of music.
Considering that Jess is a soul/bluesy singer and LeAnn is known for her country voice, i think LeAnn did one hell of a great job. Both ladies are very special and they combined very well together. great killer band also.

I must admit that from a purly technical viewpoint both singers outpass Janis Joplin. B U T Every Thing Janis expressed through her music has vanished. No Feeling No Blues. The song itself is by far one of my favourites, especially the version with Hendix but in this version its almost boring. No offense, sounds good, the performance is good but too sterile for a such a song.
I think everyone is taking her comment out of context. I was actually at this concert they did, and Leann was the one that wanted to do this song in the first place, not Joss. I think she was speaking to how Janis didn't have what many people would consider a "Aretha Franklin" type of great voice, but she showed so much pain that's what made her voice GREAT. LeAnn talked about it before they sang this song, and she talked about how much she looked up to Janis Joplin. LeAnn has a GREAT voice!!!!

Iv'e seen her at least a half dozen times and shes got one of the best voices and technically I think the best.

I must admit that from a purly technical viewpoint both singers outpass Janis Joplin. B U T Every Thing Janis expressed through her music has vanished. No Feeling No Blues. The song itself is by far one of my favourites, especially the version with Hendix but in this version its almost boring. No offense, sounds good, the performance is good but too sterile for a such a song.

I think everyone is taking her comment out of context. I was actually at this concert they did, and Leann was the one that wanted to do this song in the first place, not Joss. I think she was speaking to how Janis didn't have what many people would consider a "Aretha Franklin" type of great voice, but she showed so much pain that's what made her voice GREAT. LeAnn talked about it before they sang this song, and she talked about how much she looked up to Janis Joplin. LeAnn has a GREAT voice!!!!

Iv'e seen her at least a half dozen times and shes got one of the best voices and technically I think the best.
