The first time I heard this song, I thought, "meh." The second time, its beauty exploded onto me, and I love it now.

It reminds me of the anime series "Haibane Renmei." The haibane are angel-like creatures who live in a nice city that's sort of like purgatory. They live there until their Day of Flight, when they disappear and go beyond the city's walls. It's a beautiful story, dealing with spiritual matters like memory, loss of friends, sin, and forgiveness.

My God, I just can't stop telling you how glad I am that you posted all these Enya songs. China Roses is, perhaps, my favorite song from "Memory of the Trees." Heard it for the first time in a compilation named "Paint the sky with stars," and it was so beautiful I loved it the second I began to listen to it.
