If the trillions of dollars lost on bankers were spent on solar power production instead, we could be ready before the oil runs out. If the further trillions of dollars currently supporting black-ops, wars and weapons were put into developing Tesla's cosmic rays for free energy technology, we have a chance for peace on earth. Germany's back-up solar power alone is enough to meet all of Japan's energy requirements. If the trillions spent on nuclear power was diverted to health and agriculture ...

@ilest - Yeah. For how many years... once China adds its new 25-plus reactors to the 14 it has already? It won't be long before we see the USA selling it's nuclear warheads to China for uranium. It is not a renewable resource like the sun. Nor is it clean.

@ilest My comment is about Tesla's harnessing of cosmic rays. However, I did work in the solar power industry and it too is very viable. Nuclear energy is extremely dangerous as we are continuing to witness with Fukushima.

@Janicide Well Tesla already said he already found unlimited and almost free energy. Solar panels I am sure could be way much cheaper than coal. The only problem no one provide funding for scientist to work on these issues.

@kessass83 I just want to add. The solar power had been three times more expensive according to experts maybe 15 years ago when the oil price still was at 30 per barrel. Now when the Oil is over 100 per barrel, what we see that Obama worked along with Solindra and stole money from American People. So we have to close all solar panel factories in the US, because it is without future

We all know that there's not enough oil to meet future needs, and we need to get away from it anyway for the health of the planet. Since we're looking at a possible global economic crash, and the economy and oil are so closely linked, I am surprised we are not reviewing Tesla's patents and discoveries for unlimited free energy using cosmic particles he discovered exist all around us.The new industry would create jobs too. @Janicide - Just like all energy transitions before, capital will be locked into the status quo until it dies out - or unless someone with strong political will can convince the public of a new plan AND subsidies that maintain the status quo are taken away. Maybe people will start thinking more seriously when oil reaches $200 or $400/barrel. But right now, very few realize the cliff we are about to drive off.

 Just to remind. Expert said that Solar power is three times more expensive when the Oil still stood at 20 dollars per barrel, and solar industry still wasn't so much developed. Today we have the price of Oil at 100 and what he hear? Solindra the only producer of SOlar panels is accused of stealing money and President is part of it.
