The other 3 will either attack or drop back depending on the situation; where the puck is, the score, the other team's style of play. There are no 1 on 1's. Nobody should tell a team how they should play hockey. But being the home team, Tampa Bay should at least give something to their fans, not some boring hockey. I don't see much of a problem for them playing like this at away games.

@Lordoftheflies234 The 1-3-1 trap is a defensive system that basically eliminates 99% of possible plays for the opposition and makes the hockey game very boring and very hard for the non-trapping team to do anything.
Although I don't mind it for a team late in a game defending a lead to see it in the first 60 seconds of a game is disgusting.
It's bad hockey that allows a team to stop a skilled offense without using much or any real effort or skill themselves.
Unsportsmanlike conduct to me.

no, tamps doesn't always use this. Also, I meant that the 1-3-1 works well. Like when the Devils used it to win those cups. Tampa had sucess using it last year (once again- not all the time). I loved every moment of the Flyers trying to make a statement when it's really them who were afraid to challenge a different tactic that Tampa Bay chose to play. It's amazing how the most people believe Tampa Bay is at fault (delaying the match). What these people fail to realize is that it's nobody's business what Tampa Bay prefers to do in a match, so if the team (Flyers) with the puck chooses not to move forward, they're cowards, end of story, lol.
