I live in EUROPE! So I know first hand what our health care is like.

There are certainly problems, like most institutions, however this does not dismiss the fact that Europe has some of the best healthcare in the World. Look at the statistics of the 'World Health Organisation', who has some of the best health care in the World? - Mainly Europe.

There are problems with US health care currently, however I'm sure that will improve over time, with ridiculous fees being charged to US citizens.

Where you are wrong is where I have had experience in this. My sister had terminal cancer and she was treated with chemotherapy, in a timely manner and she did not ever wait years for treatment.

The fact is that these stories you hear about are years old and institution's in the Europe have changed, and have improved over the years with spending increases.

What Obama is proposing is government health insurance, which is similar to Switzerland's and Holand's health care system, which I think is fair as it covers everyone in the country.

However to defend European health care as a whole, it is improving. Heck, the health care we have in Europe is ranked way above that of in the US. I believe the US is ranked 37th while most of Europe is ranked within the 20 mark all the way down to number 1.

Just so everyone knows, I actually *do* live in Germany (I've lived here 6 years). Health care is not rationed here. They do, however have a "public option"--government subsidized health insurance. That's what I've got. For $75 a month I know that I can go to the doctor when I need to and/or go for preventative care. They did introduce a $15 co-pay once per quarter if you visit the doctor, but it sure as hell beats being uninsured in America.
