Personally, there are too many great songs to pic a number 1. Hip hop needs to be broken into subcategories. you can't compare Nas to eminem to bone thugs, way different styles. Then there's lyrics vs beats. My personal favorite hip hop song of all time in Nas- NY State of Mind. I think Nas is a lyrical genius.
