  • What if people are swimming in a pool and someone throws a bottle in. This stuff seems like an accident waiting to happen

  • HOT ICE!! I heat up the ice cubes!! its the best of both worlds!!

  • its called super saturation . by heating the solution enough and adding so much sodium acetate that it becomes super saturated and once disturbed by agitation solidifies .

  • fuck man that shit no work

  • @folledyousucker your probably not preparing it right. There are other videos on youtube with good guides oh how to mix and make the solution. When you boil the water you want to make sure you keep adding the sodium acetate untill its not dissolving any more. If you used all of your acetate and its still dissolving you used to much water.

  • You've gotta love supersaturated solutions!

  • what happens if you leave your finger in there?

  • @MyChainsAreGone7777 it would probably just do the same thing. Dont have anymore to try it.

  • Link please where's the link

  • i want to make koolaid pops out of this!!! :D

  • @DennisLottig don't make koolaid pops its toxic

  • how do u get it out??

  • @TheOVERDOSEOFGORAN Spoon :) its not that solid.

  • leave your finger in it as it hardens

  • thats why they put it in a click and heat pack....

  • People, it's a precipitate. Not ice. Just a product of a chemical reaction that isn't soluble in water.

  • can you use the ice after it is frozen?

  • ..... Do it again.. this time.. stick your finger in it while it's freezing..

  • Is it as hard as ice ?

  • yummy, wikipedia says this same chemical is used to flavor " "salt and vinegar flavoured" chips.

  • just use a hand warmer :P

  • is that 100 centergrad or the USA temperature

  • @BlackSnake820 USA needs to get with the program, i'm sick on converting everything to metric

  • @DonWhon875 No USA does not to "get with the program!" get over it man. America did not want to be like Europe and the rest of the world when we broke free, henceforth we came up with the standard system. so we were diffrent from the rest of the world, if we go to Metric then we will be giving up one of our first symbols of freedom, and independance,

  • @classicmstang bahahahahah what a stupid logic

your military uses metric.....dont they represent freedom and independance of your country?

  • What if u use it on the ocean

  • thats badass

  • Can you eat/drink this when you melt it again?

  • what if you chuck it in the ocean

  • Does it work?

  • its 'hot' ice, but you have to melt it in a pan with a flame....

  • what will happen when you put your dick in it while its getting started to freeze?

  • @deniz11muis1 Damn, you should try that.. Er, use a finger, and post the vid.. I bet that would be cool..

  • can i eat it?

  • @edvin97ful dude its more than 100 degrees i make hot ice touch it and i coulnt even fell my finger for about 10 minutes

  • @rextron64 ....ooooh OK

  • @edvin97ful XD

  • Well u get stuck and end up with 3e stage burns on your finger... Don't try

  • what will happen if you put your fingers in while its getting started to freeze?

  • ugh.............

  • ok so i was wondering how much would it take to do this to lets say a swimming pool sized glass? XD

  • @ludacrisjr7 get a baby pool from walmart and do it! i would love to see someone do that.

  • @ajmboarding more like in a public pool lol

  • it doesnt work anymore its been patched... LOL

  • ICE AGE!!!! [cit]

  • Who else would stick their finger in whilst it's freezing

  • The real question is will it blend

  • will it melt?

  • Looks like water and then milk.

  • neat but i wont be putting this anywhere near my drink.

  • @KILLSWITCH220099 But you DO know that this chemical is used for keeping all kind of food fresh, right?!?o_O It's harmless

  • Hot ice is a chemical reaction the military developed for heat packs in the medic field. It is an exothermic reaction. You can create it with house hold chemicals. If you reconstitute the acid in vinegar by boiling it and adding sodium slowly stirring it in it will create same stuff.

  • same sortof thing as hand warmers :P

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I did that too it is amezing and I put in a swimming pool and right before my friend jumped in I touched it and it was hot ice!!!!!!

  • can i eat it ?

  • To get it out, you have to boil the glass in water. You don't have to submerge it, so you can reuse the ice :)

  • How Long Does It Stay Froozen?

  • @MrHeavygamer untill you melt it.

  • what if you dump a truck of this stuff into the ocean? ;3

  • i wnt to try , but no money ;S !

  • It's not ice! The chemical soaked up the water! It's just the chemical!

  • If this wasn't done in my science class and I didn't get a chance to touch it I'd call this fake

  • lol don't try to eat/drink this.

  • No duuuuuuuuh

  • heat it up to turn it into a liquid.

  • er i got a question:what is that water before u put in the sodium Acetate?

  • dude pm me what u do!

  • they should make this a weapon for the military

  • Is it edible?

  • lol who wants to buy just make your own using acetic acid made by getting vinegar a container and a smaller container filled with sodium hydroxide and cover container then after a few days u get pure acetic acid react with baking soda and done

  • 27,666 views nice!

  • what is the ratios of the water and the sodium acetate

  • @MingSimm when your making it, just keep adding sodium acetate untill you can tell its starting to not dissolve the sodium acetate into the water anymore. AKA saturated.

  • It is not Ice. It is salt that crystallises.

  • @Deathmetalr0x pretty much, infact, its not even cold its actually hot.

  • @ajmboarding No its not ice, and too all you people wanting to use it with edibals and such, well wouldnt. I just called it Hot Ice cause #1 its actually hot, #2 it LOOKS like ice.

  • probably the coolest way to ruin a glass :P

  • @mustanggtxps3 probably dosn't ruin the glass, actually...i know it does't

  • @ajmboarding so you can actually get all of the "ice" out of the glass after its turned solid?

  • @mustanggtxps3 yea, you'll just have to use a spoon or somethin, it dosnt turn into a rock. and you can actually re melt and a do it agian and agian.

  • @ajmboarding noice

  • @ajmboarding You can boil it.

  • @ajmboarding so cool

  • @ajmboarding glass will be fine, nothing soap and water cant clean.

  • You heat up the ice cubes! Its the best of both worlds!

  • Now lick it!!!

  • Damn science, you awesome!

  • sperm

  • Where do people get sodium acetate?

  • @lemonhead1341 google is your friend

  • po-ta-toe

  • So this goes out to everyone, because there seams to be some mis understanding, this is a HOT ICE trick, it is not cold, it is actually warm when it turns hard, and as far as TOXIC....well I'd say not to put it in anything you'd be digesting!

  • One more thing. What's the freezing point (F') thanks, Chris.

  • A couple of questions. Is the ice a hard solid? Is the solid toxic? If you sprayed it on somthing like a person( I WOULD NEVER DO THAT) (I was just wondering) would it like freez them? Lol. And what degrees (F') is the solid? Hope to hear your reply, best reguards, Chris.

  • am.. is this ice .. toxic ?

  • That's cool love it and thumbs up if you found it under me drinking water

  • @pseudoprodigy im not sure.

  • sooo , if we want it back to water again , just put it in the freezer? LOL

  • @InsanEternelity no you need to melt it then put in back in frig.

  • @InsanEternelity Boiling it would turn it back to a liquid. It's the same stuff in the reusable chemical hand warmers.

  • put you finger in in fully and leave it

  • @MrYouprick you would be able to pull it out, it doesn't become real ice, like i said its actually warm. It feels like a warm slushy.

  • how many grams of soidium acetate should u put?

  • wow i thought tht was fake but i tried it and just wow

  • @thejnacrew lol yea its fun for like a day or two, just to show people, then your like....what a waste of money haha

  • Comment removed

  • did you know you can also use the microwave to remelt it and you could also use sodium acetate anhydrous

  • you can make it using vinegar and baking soda and u put 3 tablespoons of baking soda for every liter of vinegar...boil til you see this crusty film on top take it our and put it in an ice bath and then you can scrap some of the white stuff on the side of the pan, or acetate trihydrate and drop it in the solution and it works, it will be slower cause its homemade

  • cool
