A friend of mine was envenomated by this species. The spider was agitated, no doubt, as my friend was sweeping the wood shed. It jumped off the floor, bit him on the calf, then jumped off. Friend was in massive pain, called me bawling his eyes out. Left a raised white welp about 2" in diameter and 1/4" tall. Pink in a ring about an inch past that. Ow...

Props to you, they're are really only a few species of dangerous spiders in America. Two of them being the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse. I'm glad to see someone making videos of the handling of such a beautiful specimen. It helps others understand the nature of spiders and rid themselves of the fear. I'm still afraid of spiders myself, so I force myself to deal with then rationally when I encounter them. This video gets me one step closer to peace. Thanks.

Spiders like funnel webs should die. But these...can probably eat nuisance insects and I definitely will never kill a house spider (although I'm scared of them) because they eat mosquitoes and centipedes...earwigs etc.

At my old house I used to get bites on me all the time that were swollen and different colors and on the last day there when were packing up and moving away i came out of the bathroom(which was across the hall from my bedroom) and a spider about that big was climbing up my wall and when i went to go spray it with chemcials it fell and all these babies came off its back and i killed the mom but the babies went into the floor vent. it disgusted me that those were biting me :( D:
