I peeled my Pearson Flyer a year ago and it is now ready to have a epoxy barrier coat. I have places where I did not peel smooth and it needs to be filled. Should I wet the surface first before filling? I am stuck with using Mas Flag and regular resin as I bought it in large quantities on sale. I have milled fibers, pballons and cab o seal.
Yes, I would give the rough hull a good coat of epoxy/resin, before you add the fairing compound. Let the epoxy/resin cure a bit (still tacky) before you apply the fairing compound.
Add some coloring agent to each layer of barrier coat to check for coverage.
It makes a better fairing compound for filling problem spots. If you are trying to fill anything over 1/4" deep use System Three's EZFillter. I like the "SlowFair", because it sets up slow. I have plenty of time to work the material before it kicks, and can get a better finish, with less sanding.

Whats the benifit of using this product over epoxy wood flour/slica mix? Is it stronger? of Just eaiser to sand? Thx
