  • Mickey Rooney, maybe?

  • I never knew this was such a deeply nihilistic song...

  • it's 2011, and although no one I know know what "animaniacs" are, their songs are the only way I learn. I don't remember a single thing my teachers say, but as soon as I find an Animaniacs song on the topic, I know everything there is to know about the topic!

  • It's like Carl Sagan but with animated talking...animal...dog...cat...things.

  • Makes you feel so... sort of insignificant, doesn't it?

  • can anyone confirm if these final lyrics were cut before the final draft

"though you think you're quite essential,

    try inconsenquential,

    it's a great universe and we're not"

  • this song gets stuck in my head for days everytime i listen to it

  • @evanfire1230 Methinks you missed the "Do I care? Notrly" bit. But the whole issue does present problems to astronomers, namely what constitutes a planet. And if something is only a pseudo-planet (I forget the actual term), then what do we define that as, when it so obviously holds traits similar to those of planets?

In everyday life, it makes absolutely no difference. But it is still an interesting topic from an astronomer's point of view.

  • Mickey Rooney disliked this video.

  • They did it better in "Meaning of Life."

  • best song ever..and the reason Ive decided to become a cosmologist! :)

  • See this is what made songs in cartoons good back in the day, and really what made cartoons in general good. They realized that when they were speaking to a child they were'nt speaking to some little person with a weak mind or unspoiled brain. Kids are people too and they know what's going on damnit! Start treating them like it!

  • Here that NASA? NINE PLANETS D< Listen to Yakko, he knows his stuff.

  • @HeraLedro I made a boo-boo. *ahem* I meant to say:

Hear that NASA?! That's NINE planets! Not eight, nine! Listen to Yakko, he knows what he's talking about!

Do I care? Notrly, but I do miss hearing about Pluto the planet D=

  • This had to be partially influenced by Eric Idles Galaxy song from The Meaning of Life. Well, if not completely derivative of it.

  • @Jimkaider lol Monty Python problably influenced alot of modern comedy

  • There are 8 planets now.

  • @DrkRonin03 Ya, I know. I don't know about you, but I think that STINKS. Pluto was a cool planet. :(

  • @thefamousartist7

They had a good reason. No hard feelings on my end.

  • @DrkRonin03 Oh, I know. One of the few reasons I'm familiar with is that Pluto was only half the size of our own moon, and a planet has to be bigger than a moon in order to be considered a planet. At least, that's as far as I know of my limited information.

  • @thefamousartist7 If I'm not mistaken they had the choice between 8 planets, or, if Pluto was included, 14 because there were some other planetoids similar to Pluto.

  • @Fredvdp At the time darling..it was 9 planets!! ahh the good ol' days of pluto

  • @KaunisSuicide Yes, I know that. Before the entire 'we have to define planet' thing. :p

  • HHHHHHHNNNNNGGGGG

  • ah good memories of being 13 years old.

  • @AtlanticoBooks Know whats funny? I'm 13. :3

    The Warners shall live on!

  • One of the best songs from one of the best shows ha
