seriously he is describing a pc i'm not kidding cause os 10.6 is awesome and all the problems he is describing are from os 9 and and early osx my mac is my hero yesterday i had to copy a photo i plug it into the printer its my brothers ive never used it but mac auto recognized it and i open up preview a built in mac app comes with the os and bam there it is whats on the scanner is what im seeing on screen no driver installs no searching in google just so much easier thats real plug and play

The Windows user base is 10 if not 100 times larger than that of Mac. As a result, there are a lot more hacks, trojans, or viruses created to target Windows specifically.
Due to the large user base, Windows has to be very careful when changing features because of the backward compatibility issue.
Whereas Mac, when you have only 5% of the market and when you control and set rules for what the software can do on your system, you are bound to have a more reliable system.
A lot of the blue screen of death are actually created by badly written 3rd party software. When you upgrade your system and all of a sudden, your system starts to crash, you don't blame the software you have but you blame the OS even though the software is actually the one causing the problem because it is not doing things the way it is supposed to be. They reverse-engineer OS to call functions that are not in the API.
I'm a tech for one of the world's largest media companies & support Apple systems plus PC's (and many different brand servers)...I can tell you 2 things about my job...1.) I spend 96% of my time helping PC's & PC users (part of this is that many dont understand how a computer works) and 2.) Macs dont fail like you say they do. Six years has told me this.

If you say 1 is better then the other, you are a hopeless fanboy, period. Facts. PC's running Windows are "seemingly" less secure because more people use it and have used it longer, thus more people creating malware. Macs are "seemingly" more unstable due to lack of experience and a smaller programmer work force. In 10 years, this debate won't even be remembered.

hehe the most fun thing about this are the automated fanboy responses. I have used both mac's and Pc's for music production and both have locked on me aplenty and crashed. I prefer none of the other, each has great strengths and weakness, depends on what i set out to do. But for music there is only pc in my world because i can tailor it to me actual needs.

Yep, I keep having to tell mac head this. Its not 1997 any more. I have rooms full of PCs that only ever crash if there is a hardware fault. reason why? I have good AV and I don't let users install random cruddy software the got off the net. I also have a windows 2003 server that stays up for months at a a time.
A PC is meant to be modded, changed up, and generally tailored to the tastes of the person using it. A Mac is meant to be a computer that is completely indecipherable and therefore 'easy' to run.
I agree all the way! I watched this, and was really confused, because I had never had any of those problems. If anything, those problems resembled the ones I had with my pc. Thank goodness I only have to use a pc for work now!

It is good to read Raymond Chen's blog to get some insight of the Windows history. Backward compatibility is an issue which there is no best solution.

why do they, give three reasons why apple suck, i can tell you why they are better than PC's, Don't get viruses or need anti virus software, they come installed with more software when you buy them like iLife, OS X is more secure and it has better driver support for digital cameras printers etc

lol i hate macs too, u try to fucking organiz files and when u x out and go back to them its the fucking same way as it was before and i highlight a bunch of shit to move the files some where else and only one fucking file moves or like only 5 out of 20384u23984. thats why i have a pc AND a mac laptop. so yea i win stupid macs...

That is not true, i've been using macs for 13 years, its NOT that hard....i use Mac and Windows XP (XP for gaming) Apples are user friendly, i was freaking 9 when i first used a mac, and i found out by myself how to do certain things...GUESS WHAT? ITS NOT THAT HARD TO USE

I used a Mac for 4 years and now use a PC because it was way less expensive. Some Mac users are completely brainwashed. For performance and userbility PC's and MAC's are the same. The only difference is marketing and gimmics. If you buy a PC your going to get more bang for your buck.

thats funny, i have never had any of those problems on my mac. im an editor too, why would you ever put media files from a cd to your desktop? system prefrences will let you change the dock. i have never had a file just go away. my buddy has a Dell, he can't use it because of all the virus, i tell him, well dood you got a Dell.
Walter Murch seems to have no problems with Macs, he cut Jarhead and Cold Mountain (G4) on macs, no issues. and AVID STINKS ON ICE.

It wouldn't let me type because of corse, it was shutting down but it wasnt! It was on the shutdown screen. Lord.

who says MS is complicated is a complete moron. Computers were never MEANT TO BE TOASTERS(one click solution). They do require the user to have half a F*ing brain stem. I support a hand full and they are buggy as shit! I run farms of (SunFire 25k)--I know WTF i'm talking about here... Mac is just BSD in a pretty new hat..nothing special...Fedora will smack the hell out of it anyday. MS is bombproof as long as your not running some shady russian app or being a complete jackoff with the system.

Yep, I keep having to tell mac head this. Its not 1997 any more. I have rooms full of PCs that only ever crash if there is a hardware fault. reason why? I have good AV and I don't let users install random cruddy software the got off the net. I also have a windows 2003 server that stays up for months at a a time.

A PC is meant to be modded, changed up, and generally tailored to the tastes of the person using it. A Mac is meant to be a computer that is completely indecipherable and therefore 'easy' to run.

I agree all the way! I watched this, and was really confused, because I had never had any of those problems. If anything, those problems resembled the ones I had with my pc. Thank goodness I only have to use a pc for work now!

I thought this was hilarious. Of course, most of the time (well, all of the time), I had no idea what he was talking about. I have been using Macs for 6 years (have had more Macs than I care to count) and I've never had any of the experiences that he's describing. (And I using Final Cut Pro too!) But . . . it's still a funny video!

Yes, all computers have problems, just like all cars. There is no pure, perfect computer anymore, so just go buy one at your local warehouse for a fair price, and stop getting personal and religious about it. Its just a appliance, no more, no less. You dont get obsessed with your washing machine, by painting it black, and putting neon lights and a scroll wheel on it do you?
