@23noname42 I enjoy The Antlers, but you really think this music takes some highly developed mental capability to enjoy? You sound like a hipster, an elitist, or both.
@blueballsredhair I think that they just mean that their music is very deep and there are many layers to it, and that not everyone comprehends all of them.
Who do you guys think you are, thinking you deserve to listen to something more than anybody else >_> Seriously, that's unadulterated hipsterdom right there.
@GlenMuse795 what would you prefer, a great band getting recognition? or hipsters snickering amongst themselves because they're the keepers of all good music?
@Mukulele95 Recognition and mainstream popularity are completely different things. I hope they get lots of positive attention for all of the absolutely amazing music they make, I'm just saying that the general public and their terrible taste is hardly worthy of hearing such a fantastic act. (;
@GlenMuse795 I think everyone has the right to hear anything if they like it, it is a good thing because they give the band recognition (and that recognition gives the band another reason to continue making good music). When I really like a band I try to show it to my friends and help the band a little... but I only wish some people would get their heads out of their asses and start listening to music that is not in the "TOP 40s"...
@GlenMuse795 Also, people don't listen to this kind of music, not because they are not worthy of it, or because they are "plebes"... it is because they want to fit in the society, and sadly one of the ways to do that is to listen the music that particular group listen... if they see someone in that group actually listening to something else they would be like "ugh, turn that off, put some LMFAO!". So actually this is the fault of big corporations like MTV, they ruin people's ears.
Amazon.com gave me this band as a recommended listen. Amazon, this is the best recommendation you've ever given me. Thank you. Now, if only you could start sending my packages on time.
@lilshortypie72 Because most of the good music today is thrown to the side while pure trash gets put into the spotlight (Bieber, GaGa) The Antlers worked hard on this album and even released it themselves. They deserve better
@curlymccr3 I don't know where you live, but in NYC The Antlers are hardly undiscovered. Oh, and I'm a fan of the band who doesn't care what music other people listen to. Get over yourself.
i'm no 'hipster' and i like this music! suck it. my ipod has no restrictions. its has 'good music' and 'bad music'. because it's my personal taste.

Nearly fell asleep to this. Peter Silberman's voice is beautiful.

I think if you have the mental and musical capacity to understand how incredible this music is, you deserve to enjoy it.

@Tomfish3000 It might be, yes, but the plebes don't deserve this kind of perfection.

@curlymccr3 although I agree to a very, very small extent, you're not one for putting the elitist stereotype to bed are ya? :P
