@ImMrKool101 Flo Rida wasn't even born when this came out. That's Etta James' voice and it was sampled for about 20 years on tons of songs before Flo Rida did his crap version.
Avicii and Flo Rida didn't STEAL her music. It's called SAMPLING and it's a legal practice that the current owners of her music allowed and are totally aware of. They made money off of it and it's disrespect, but it's also business.
when this song came up on pandora i was so pissed that it actually though i would enjoy a flo rida song (if u can call what flo rida makes "songs"). then i was glad i listened to the rest of it :D
Anyone whose here because of Avicii or Flo Rida can kindly piss the fuck off. You're supposed to be here to hear and talk about Etta James and her wonderful music. EDM and hip hop is not welcome here.

@TheSausyOne Go take a music appreciation class. I hate people who open their mouths and have NO IDEA WTF they are talking about. I bet if your mom heard that garbage of a remake Florida did, she would of said what you said but that Florida RUINED the Etta James song... Etta James
@kraskata2012 HEY IT IS FLO RIDA I LIVE IN FLORIDA SO PROPER SPELLING GRAMMER THATS LIKE SO OFEISIVE TO ME - sorry about being the hypocrite about the hypoctie and ofensive i dont know haow to spell those but im noot insulting FLORIDA the STATE
Pretty Lights sampled it from Etta. Avicii got the IDEA (keyword) from Pretty Lights, and sampled Etta. Flo Rida got the idea from Avicii, and sampled it from Avicii. (scumbag move)
I can't believe I didn't recognize the hook on Flo Rida's song was from Etta James. I see there are a bunch of comments about how terrible the rap song is. Flo Rida brought new life to the song and got a lot of young people listening to some of Ms. James' work. That's a win-win situation. By the way, "Good Feeling" is an absolute club-banger. So stop hating, people.
@drelle504 Too right,it's a fine tribute to an amazing voice.Utah Saints didn't get this kind of stick when they sampled Kate Bush on Something Good.Etta,i'm sure would be pleased at the inadvertent re-itroduction to her work.RIP Etta
@TheVioletWave I actually learned that after my post. Regardless of who sampled what, they're still great songs. Now there are a bunch of so-called "artists" that absolutely ruin sample tracks. I think what both Avicii and Flo Rida did was to honor Etta James. In doing so, it made a really hot song. Thanks for responding.
About a year ago, a 21 year old Swedish DJ named Avicii used Etta James Vocals in a remix he created called Levels (Look it up).
Then Flo Rida and studio puppets heard Avicii's song and decided to "Borrow" it and sell it to American hip hop/rap audiences covered in his Rap, because they wouldn't even know that its not Flo Ridas originality they are buying.
Hip hop/rap has been doing this for years, stealing and selling overseas music to dumb ass Americans.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround I would otherwise agree with you but the song was sampled way before Avicci. In 2006 an American electronic artist called Pretty Lights took this song and used that same sample that was later copied by the Swedish group and eventually by Flow or Flo Rida. Etta James originated it, so if your going to call Flo Rida a copy cat (which he is) then so is Avicii. Their version of the song sucks anyways. Nothing compares to Etta's music.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround As an American, I take offense to your "dumb ass" remark. There's no need for that. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it was Avicii or Flo Rida, who gave new life to a legend's song first. We're lucky to have all 3 artists to enjoy. Just enjoy the music.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround you idiot, Flo Rida's good feeling was co produced by Avicii so it wasn't "borrowed". Avicii willingly let Flo Rida use it. Your argument is invalid.
@VindettaOfficial Good feeling was released August 29, 2011 though. Although that might be right on time as to when good feeling was being recorded/finished recording, there's still a good four months, and anything might've happened then.
But yea, evidence are pointing that you are correct.
About 6 years ago, an American electronic artist known as Pretty Lights sampled Etta James' vocal track into his song called Finally Moving. Since then DJs all over the world have been using that sample...because it kicks ass...Avicii included.
The origin of rap is in remixing, turntablism and MCing. I'm not defending pop music, it sucks, but Flo Rida's producers have a simple job, that is to make money. They do that job well. Your argument is invalid.
About 50 years ago, a 24 year old American soul singer named Etta James used her extraordinary, God-given vocal talent in a song called "Something's Got a Hold on Me" (Look it up).
Then Avicii heard Ms. James's song and decided to "Borrow" it and sell it to international audiences covered in an elementary four-on-the-floor drum pattern and swirling dance synths because they wouldn't even know that it's not Avicii's originality they are buying.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround Exactly. godbless you for pointing that out. Flo Rida is garbage. and I believe Guetta was his producer who has become terrible lol.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround he was not the first to remix it either.... it was pretty lights finally moving, just because one person samples a song doesn't mean they own it. the person who actually made the original owns it..
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround It sounds bad, but thats how it always used to be. 80% of the songs that Dean Martin sung, Frank Sinatra sung as well. It wasnt considered stealing.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround There is nothing wrong with sampling as long as you credit the artist you are sampling from. Kanye sampled Bon Iver for Lost in the World. Drake sampled Gil Scott Heron for Take Care. Sampling allows young audiences to be expose to greats artists like Etta James and James Brown.
@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround are you stupid? you actually think that Americans didn't realize that it was a sample? whether they knew who the sample was or not, we invented hip hop, we birthed etta james. WE KNOW. dumb ass foreigner.
however a good rebel exposes them for what they are, and then brings real music like this to a wider audience so apparently it's not so bad what their doing.
@drelle504 I absolutely love and commend your positive attitude, I strive everyday to feel this positive about things. However, being from the demographic that Flo Rida is targeting, I can safely say that if I were to ask 100 people on my university campus, not one person would know who Etta James is. So no, most do not make the effort to learn the origin of the music they listen to. They just hear it as a great song to get loose to when they go out for a night on the town.
@drelle504 Actually FloRida Got the sample From Avicii and FloRida's song is crap Avicii did a way better job at making a song around it! Do a little research before you make your self look ignorant.
@gEtSnIpEd100 Really. You thought my comment was ignorant? Well I'm sorry to upset you so much. By the way, I learned about Avicii a few days ago so there's no need to be so mean about it.
@djPHUZ Lol I hope your not being serious? Your comparing electronic music and main stream hip hop. I think you and whoever your arguing with are the real idiots for trying to compare two completely different genres of music. It's like comparing a Sports Car and a 1960's pickup truck. They both will get you were you need to go. Just 1 of them sucks balls.
@djPHUZ Because Avicii inst apart of "main stream" music and people for some reason like main stream music because they think its good and apparently you don't know good music if your listening to garbage like Flo Rida... Mad bro? lol IDIOT
@drelle504 Actually, it was AVICII who first introduced Etta James' sampled vocals to his song "Levels". "Good Feeling" was co-produced with AVICII, which is how these vocals appeared on the Flo Rida's song.
@steffen54321 LOL For some reason, I think of something else when I read your comment. I'm a bad girl, obviously. :-) Anyway, I don't know what happened to the thumbs up/down buttons. Thanks for wanting to.
@drelle504 Actually Pretty Lights - Finally Moving got me to like Etta James and I believe they were the FIRST to sample this song. They also did an excellent job of it. Skrillex - Levels is also a decent sample of this song. Flo Rida just ruins it completely and I'm even a fan of rap, but him.. no. Guess that's just my opinion though.
Timeline of this song:
1962 - original by Etta James
2009/2010 -sampled by Pretty Lights
2011 - idea taken from PL, resampled by Avicii
late 2011 - idea stolen from everyone gathering popularity, re-resampled by Flo Rida

The origin of rap is in remixing, turntablism and MCing. I'm not defending pop music, it sucks, but Flo Rida's producers have a simple job, that is to make money. They do that job well. Your argument is invalid.

@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround Also, Derek Smith (Pretty Lights) sampled this in the song Finally Moving. Before Avicii. Just thought I'd say that

@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround
See the hypocrisy?

@Dp3ch3Mod3UndrGround
however a good rebel exposes them for what they are, and then brings real music like this to a wider audience so apparently it's not so bad what their doing.

Do a little research before you make your self look ignorant.
gEtSnIpEd100 3 weeks ago
@gEtSnIpEd100 Really. You thought my comment was ignorant? Well I'm sorry to upset you so much. By the way, I learned about Avicii a few days ago so there's no need to be so mean about it.

@gEtSnIpEd100 Avicii did a better job? but.i dont hear that bitch on the radio stations only Flo Rida's version...why is that? lol idiot
djPHUZ 2 weeks ago
@djPHUZ Lol I hope your not being serious? Your comparing electronic music and main stream hip hop. I think you and whoever your arguing with are the real idiots for trying to compare two completely different genres of music. It's like comparing a Sports Car and a 1960's pickup truck. They both will get you were you need to go. Just 1 of them sucks balls.
PallyIRL 2 weeks ago
@djPHUZ because its an old song that wouldnt sound good to todays generation, dumbass.
NinjaDinosaurs47 2 weeks ago
@djPHUZ Because Avicii inst apart of "main stream" music and people for some reason like main stream music because they think its good and apparently you don't know good music if your listening to garbage like Flo Rida... Mad bro? lol IDIOT
gEtSnIpEd100 1 week ago
@drelle504 Actually, it was AVICII who first introduced Etta James' sampled vocals to his song "Levels". "Good Feeling" was co-produced with AVICII, which is how these vocals appeared on the Flo Rida's song.

Pretty Lights started it, then Flo Rida and Avicii came on. Awesomely done
