  • Reina you're so comfortable in front of the camera, with your guitar, you're obviously very well practiced, very talented, probably both. Every new song I find is a delight!

  • Great guitar!!!

  • This is what I am talking about the truth, and WE MUST LISTEN!!! :)

  • You made my sunny Saturday morning. Thank you. Don't ever stop, no matter what.

  • I like your version betterrr. : ) I may have a slight crush on your voice...haha.

  • I loove this cover!!! :D :D :D Brriiiillaaaant!

  • I like Reina's and Conor's writing….both the lyrics and music. I admit I have a bit of trouble enjoying Conor's vocal performances but that's my problem, not his. "First Day of My Life" is one of my favorites of his writing. Reina has the ability to bond his emotion and her voice together to produce an all-around beautiful song and performance…..just like she has done on this one. In fact, her video cover performances have always impressed me…..

  • i was smiling the whole time =)

  • Hi

I like you on classical guitar

  • Thumbs up for 0 dislikes, well deserved! :)

  • Reina del Cid--Folk Singer--I like it! (Martin)

  • I love the way Reina's right eyebrow curves up at 2:25…"I found out I am really no^ one". Actually it happens several times at the same place in the melody. As we know, the left eyebrow bulks at doing this curvy thing ;). She has such wonderful voice control too……

  • More people should watch your videos. Everytime I hear you sing it makes me happier :)

  • CO has a gift and so do you Reina. Your voice is still emerging.

  • Could be a tribute to Bob Dylan ... ;)

    Really good

  • Hey Reina!

This is a great song and a great performance. I like the recording of this one: Your voice is just beautiful!

I will take this song offline to accompany me on my travels this week and hope that is permitted.

Kudos and hats off to your musical talent!

    Hope you are doing well!!!

    A TransAtlanticWolf

PS: Apologies for the late comment. I was largely limited to offline listening to your songs these past few months.

  • Hey Reina, you have great teeth. hahaha. Love this song too.

  • This performance thrills my soul.....thank for these feelings......

  • Been offline too long. Look what I've missed out on. Lovely song. Nice to see you more upliffted then the last song. Though admittedly an old horror like me tends to like sad songs more then happy songs. And yet still Library Girl is my favorite song of yours.

  • @DarkSednaI (2) I do not know if you enjoy reading, but I recommend reading ''Death on installment plan''. As i am french, my comments are sometimes confusing and i do not want to embarrass a fan of reina. Also if you feel offended, i will erase these comments. Happy winter.

  • @DarkSedna (1) Hi ! Your comment reminds me of me when i was 27 years. I was a sensitive and sad at that time. Often I listened ''In Utero''. Not that i had suicidal thoughts, but this album soothed me. It was the child that was in me who would not grow, in fact. Then i discovered Louis-Ferdinand Céline and his novels have opened my eyes to some aspects of reality

  • Best comment board on here, Could be the only video on Youtube with all postive feedback! Congrats Reina...

  • I LOVE this song! I have the music video on my iPod xD So happy you covered it :)

  • Why hasn't someone signed you yet? you've got everything it takes to make it! Writing skills, vocal talent, creativity, guitar skills, looks, motivation, all of it.... why aren't you signed yet! lol

great song Reina. I love it

  • Be nice to hear your new classical through a better microphone...

Just a thought...I think this is a smart direction to take...world is about due for another Dylan...and you have a similar gift for alliteration...

    5/5*

  • something like Charlie Chaplin ?

Thank you for sharing this song that I would probably never listened without you.

  • i have not yet translated the song, but i asked myself this question. a recurrent question that you should ask yourself too. is that a song can change life? i mean, is that artists are not just doomed to be clowns to entertain people? what role can they play because they are not the ones who have the power but the media, politics, etc.. ? I would like to talk more about this but I am tired. Sorry and sorry for my english.

Thank you for reading my comment.

  • You still have the ability to make a rendition of a cover better than the original. If you don't me asking, what brand of classical guitar did you get?

  • A passage in this song says;

"And to this endless race for property and privilege to be won

We must run, we must run, we must run".

In my point of view, Reina was saying basically the same when she wrote "Sell Nature" (when she was young ;)….around 14).

    At the end she sang;

    "They're winning a losing war

But let them have their losing war".

I was still playing with sling-shots at that age, sigh…..

  • I can always tell when a performance stirrers me….I experience chills….and the more I watch this video, the more shivers I get! Heating this place and watching your video's is…..incompatible….

  • I've heard of Bright Eyes, but I've never actively looked into them/him. I will now, 'cause now I know I like it.

Thanks for turning me on to more great music, Reina!

    Hugs,

    Nate

  • PS: You sing this song very well! The transitions are smooth and go a long way to make it a thoroughly pleasant performance.

  • @BillEvans1956, I noticed on Reina's Facebook page someone there compared Reina to Woody Guthrie. I actually remember watching a PBS Documentary on Woody decades ago. Part of Woody's life paralleled the plot line from 'The Grapes of Wrath' Hate to reward bad decision making! They should have headed East instead of West in their Model-T. Politics aside, I thought the movie 'The Grapes of Wrath' was a case study, almost, on what it is like getting crushed with no political or financial clout.

  • Songs of protest? Bob Dylan? Nice one Reina!!! Bill xxx

  • It's easy with me, i love all the clips and vidéos from Reina :)

  • Just a few things to say here... I love it and I love it. I really enjoy hearing you play and I get a great joy out of every video you post. I can't wait for you to start selling some music cause I'm going to be one of the people buying up some of your songs. I just love ya... gal. Keep it up and keep playing from the heart. I hope all is well... Take Care And All.

  • Awesome cover Reina!! Looking forward to a Christmas cover?

  • Your songs always touch me:)

  • Why is a song on this channel? lol

    Also, this is awesome :D

  • @MasterZiggy92 my guess is because it is a cover and she's worried that is it gets flagged the channel would be shut down. too bad her other covers are just as awesome

  • @Tags8912 yeah thats a good point. Maybe she didn't have the rights for this song?

  • I agree it does have a little Dylan ring to it, but just about every song everyone sings sounds a little (or a lot) like someones elses stuff. One of my originals on my other channel themusicianmark has an intro similar to a weezer song. I think this is a great song Reina, it's been a while since I've heard one from you, it's always refreshing. keep it up sista!

  • @notinprison notinprison's statement is very true indeed! Great job Reina! keep up the hard work, and feel free to reply to that message I sent if you the get a chance! You rock sister! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • sounds just a little Dylanesque to me. am Ithe only one? :)

  • ►Ensign Crusher: We've intercepted an anomalous transmission on an alternate Del Cid channel.

    ►Picard: Anomalous? How?

►Crusher: It's against Starfleet protocol for a Talk channel to carry tonally modulated transmissions.

    ►Picard: Curious indeed... On screen!

►Data: This dissertation is encoded in a manner making analysis difficult.

►Troi: :-) Data, the words aren't to be interpreted literally. It's 21st century poetic social commentary.

    ►Riker: :D Hot!

    ►Worf: [:\ For what PURPOSE?

    ►Troi: :O

  • I love playing this one on my own guitar. I tend to go for an even more frenetic strumming pattern, though.

  • Well...this is just the sort of thing that's bound to happen when you allow young people access to education and go encouraging them to think for themselves, next thing you know they'll have opinions of their own and start complaining about their gruel rations...

    5/5* Fav

  • Hey Reina, I was just thinking how bout a Christmas song before Christmas? I think that would be cool. :)

  • Your guitar strap for this song was perfect for this song. I like this song, it got me dancing. Awesome job Reina!!!!! :-)

  • the return of the peace sigh guitar strap i love it lol

  • I love this Bright Eyes song, and you've done it justice. You sing it with the same conviction. <3

  • Hey there, long time no see.

  • I really enjoyed the song Reina. You have the energy and lyrical projection of a youthful Bob Dylan. For myself, in my downside years, I have become part of the ' Yeah, whatever ' crowd. No message. No passion. No hope. Reina, I do wish you would post a little more often. You have a lot of zeal and I just plain old enjoy that.

  • loved it

  • Everybody will say how wonderful this is... I'll just join in! Nice one Reina!

  • From your lips to God's ears. Impressive song selection, Reina. Your renditions always have the unfeigned ring of truth... tenaciously delivered with a nobel allegiance to the message and the unyielding conviction that epitomizes Your Majesty. And a groovy guitar strap to boot... ☮,♥, Empathy

  • Such a great song, and a good cover as well

  • I love you!!!

  • You are an outstanding performer! I hope the world is waking up….good song for reusing your old peace guitar strap; I missed it ;). Good news world….Reina is on the loose!
