They gelded him! What a waste.... I had a really nice girlfriend for him!! Do you have any other buckskin stallions? I love the fact that he was a big horse with what looks like a lot of bone. Most of the racking or singlefooting horses that I have been looking at have spindly looking legs. I want something with big feet and legs.
Your horse is beautiful(: the way he moves is amazingg, and it looks like yurr having a blast! But i have a quick question, can he like regularly canter, trot and walk? Or is it strictly speed racking
@ttrachel23 Thanks for the compliments! Yes he does all those other gaits. He always trots in the pasture and can gallop also. Usually not a slow canter, if he takes off it is in more of a gallop. And he does walk when not gaiting.
@cammarkgross A singlefooter is not so much a "breed" but more of a gait, much like a racking horse is not a specific breed. There are many breeds and crosses that can singlefoot and rack. Many pure Standardbreds can rack or singlefoot, as well as TN Walking Horses, Rocky Mtns, etc.
@BellahBluesky Thanks! A singlefoot is a gait that is performed by a variety of breeds and crosses and is basically a rack but with more speed and a bit more front end. A smooth four beat gait where one foot is on the ground at each stride.
Wow do I have a girl friend for your stud!!! They would make beautiful gaiting babies.... what do you charge for stud fee? My mare is does not have her singlefooting papers yet but I plan to have her registered. She gaits beautifully and is 15.3 hands, dark bay. How tall is your stallion... I really hope he's shorter... she's almost too tall for me! I'm praying for a buckskin!!
This horse does not wear big boots or chains either one. Not sure if you were implying that he was. He is all natural, keg shod, and has been since he was 2 years old.
Please interpret for me "open shod". It´s not a term in English farriery that I am familiar with! Would also like to know what you call the bit you use. Cheers! Stunning boy
"Open Shod" for the speed racking class he was in meant that horse could be anywhere from barefoot to wearing a padded shoe. This horse was wearing a standard "keg shoe". His bit is a 10 inch walking horse shank with a twisted wire port. thanks for the compliment!
Drill tech is applied by heat to the bottom of horse shoes, similiar to Borium but not as coarse. You can buy it from horseshoeing companies and Mize Farm and Garden stores.
What an amazing animal! Any chance Cisco is a Ky. Mtn. or Rocky Mtn.. horse? I have a 3 year old buckskin Ky Mt. that looks alot like your horse. My horse and I are just learning to gait. Cisco will be our inspiration, thanks!
I love this horse. He's my favorite color. Nice looking stud, too. And he sure can move right. Nice work with this horse and this was a good video, too.
I love a good racking horse! Looks like you had allot of fun with him!

@riskyrook Thanks for the compliment on "Cisco" as we call him. His stud fee is $500. Sorry but he is 15.3hh also, so not a small horse!

what kind of horse is this? that pace looks smooth to ride..we own a standardbred and he is rough as heck to ride at the pace or trot lol
lakota123max 1 year ago
@lakota123max He is just a "racking horse" or "singlefooting horse". No specific breed, just a cross of good gaited saddle horses.
vixen310 1 year ago
@lakota123max Take your standardbred to a tennessee walking horse trainer they will make the best of him.

Love those buckskins man.
Mine is a cow working horse and most anything else.
Now tell me, this racking or flat trot is trained into them right?
They don't come like this right out of the box do they?
Thinking because of the use of 10" shanks and twisted wire bit.
Help me out here.

Be glad to see the day when they ban the big boots and chains which wear out horses knees.
