It doesn't change the fact that the example on this video incorporates dancing that is UNFAMILIAR to what Bachata IS.

However, based on what I have seen, it does resemble what is being called Bachatango.

przyplyw, one more thing - salsa (meaning sauce) does not have a country, nor a people of origin. It was put together using many rhythms, dance styles, and peoples of many countries... therefore it is a sauce made of many flavors " Que le pongan Salsa" - I would know I was there.

Bachata has a country and people of origin, you want to dance it respect it and do so - you wanna change it, go ahead, but let people know that you are not dancing bachata. Respect to those dancing Bachatango.

I know the basics of theory and meaning of the word salsa, you dont have to explain nothing one knows and understands and did not ask you to explain - why you did so - I do not know - there was no need...

The DR by itself is a mix of native indian, hispanic and african origins - so is the culture and so are the dancing styles, therefore there is no use in separating the "pure styles" for they origin also from other styles etc etc. I will stay with my opinion.

It's not about 'pure style',it's a Type of Dance. Style is dependent on how a person feels and interprets what he hears within a type of dance. Anybody can do what they want with any song you hear, but you end up looking like a 'Gringo' on vacation jumping up and down in a local bar.. dancing a cumbia in their own style, its cool - they have fun doing it, that's what counts, right? So if you are going to dance something, learn what the Dance IS then style it - don't just learn steps.

Bachata is a mix of many dancing styles and the same applies to salsa (guess where the name comes from. People who give their life to defend the dominikan style as the only one "certified" bachata style do make me laugh. Just get down to earth you "purifier" ;)

BACHATA is from DR - the dance style originated from el bolero.. add the Merengue hips and there you go. HOWEVER with any dance that has an origin, when it is changed or another dance style is added - out of respect for the origin, it is stated as such. Example: There is tango, Argentine Tango, Show Tango, Tango Orillero etc. To call this Bachata is INCORRECT, it is Bachatango.

Again, ORIGINATED, meaning where the movement/motion Evolved from, as did the music... but the change in rhthym created a change in move- generating a NEW Music form and a New Dance. Now, from what I have seen every 'bunk' dancer on you tube seems to be dancing to DOMINICAN Bachata. I haven't seen an evolution in music. ALSO, when dancers are dancing to steps and not to music... you can always tell. Salsa dancers can do all the turning and flipping they want but if they're off real dancers know.
