proud to say that i have been skiing with this man! :')
was a few years back and i've switched to boarding now,
but i'd love to snowboard with him sometime!
and to all the haters, he's just having a bit of fun,
stick to your begginer slopes until you can manage someone coming close to you, and stop whining about it. pathetic people like you ruin all the fun in skiing!
i like that when he calls out the truth, you have no response other than "cock." it's easy to go fast and in control on those gradual hills. Thousands of non-champions could do exactly what he did in that run. Dislike.
That was fast! And you have great control! Forget all these people talking shit, because they aren't as good, and don't have the balls to do anything like that. They say things like, "You're the reason people get hurt" or "People like you ruin it for everyone else" they're just covering up the fact they suck on the snow.
Love watching this video, I can't wait till it's time to go fast down some snow here in Colorado!
It's not me....I wish! He's ex Balkan Olympic champion. He teaches locally, so is used to newbies scratching the fresh off a black run, and blaming everyone else when they fall over.
how are the skiing and accomodation conditions generally in bulgaria? because i m thinking to go there this year, because it s closer than austria.. i know it s not like in austria, but is it close though?
This video is best enjoyed in Cristo's bar 'White Magic', I can recommend the Vienna Schnitzel. As for recklessness, all the locals go down the Yastrebets runs like this at the weekends which is why our instructor doesn't take classes there, at least Cristo has excellent control unlike most of the locals.
He took my son aged 15 for lessons in 2008 and told my son to follow him then set off at full speed like this. When he got to the bottom by the Rila my son was right behind him and covered christo in snow when he stopped. Christo then turned to him and said with his classic Bulgarian twang" very good..... Now we go off piste an do mogals" what a guy. Great nite in White ice that evening as well. Cheers to a top bloke
Reminds me of my 1st and only time skiing. Hint... be sober and watch for older couples who are slow to get out of the way when you don't know how to stop
A pretty good resort. Lifts are a bit dated, and the snow was pretty thin on the lower sloped when we went last year, but you can get a blow job for about £20, and the birds are fit! Well... most of them.
people like you piss me off. whats the point in cutting people off like that. your being a complete wanker. you like i wasnt there, if i was i would have chased yo down and cut yor throaght.
I have been skiing in the snow once to Italy - Passo Tonale, how would you say the runs in Bulgaria particuarly borovets compare to places like italy etc. if you know because i will soon be booking to go to borovats.
Just come back from Borovets and for the most part the Bulgarian people are freindly - there is an isuue with checking your change (they like to round up) but they are making mioney in 3 months to last 12. As long as your careful I don't think they are any less honest than people in a British resort. We all had a fab holiday there!

dude have you ever been to steamboat springs CO. wondering because last year i met one person i couldn't pass. they passed me and i'm so happy i had a gps in my pocket that day. well i started straightlining behind him and got up to 95.4 miles per hour. not kilometers per hour. but i still couldnt' pass him. well if it wasn't you. i look forward to seeing you on the slopes somewhere. maybe you can pass me like that one guy, so far i have not had more than 1 person pass me. peace and goodluck.
Chris is a top Bloke and an amazing skier. He has total control and never risks hurting anyone, the camera is on a slight zoom to make it look more exciting.
Go visit him in his bar "the white magic" and chat to him. What he doesn't know about Borovets and skiing isn't worth knowing.
I have known him for 15 years and love that man. I just came back after another great week their.
Thanks Chris, Janet and everyone at the magic, love ya all and enjoy the uno !!!
but what an idiot he come down those slopes coming close to quite few few skiers/snowborders he should know better,he could of easy broke someones leg/back this shows that the man does not give a toss about anyone else who is on the mountain. Also for all the ppl that defend him, what would you say if he run into your child at that speed would he still be a top bloke!!!!
Sick. I'm an experienced skier and broke my face doing that. Crazy nut to go that fast through casual skiers. Moron could have killed someone if not himself! Not a good impression for teenage skiers.
I made a video like that only I was on a snowboard. Me and some buddies would toss snowballs at each other and when we got down from the top of the mountain, my snowboard was destroyed, but we still made it. No injuries. That was an awesome display of skill. I'm off to snowboard for the first time in 3 years, after having two knee injuries. Its gonna be fun to just ride the greens, and drink a beer for lunch. peter B
Crowded in the first track and so small at the start, a bit dangerous about me... For the second track was better, but often you run too closer to the other skier... in my country could be arrested ;)
We have just got back from Borovets. It was wicked. Christo is a legend and one funny guy! He is worth visiting at his bar called White magic if you go to Borovets. I copied this video myself and it was alot steeper than it looks. It also took me 30 seconds longer.. Doh!. I will post my vid soon in the mean time check out my video of our trip called 'BOROVETS 2008'.
True, its steeper than it looks, but its NOT very steep. Blue circle at most. I've been there myself. But Borovets is one fun place to ski... and the length of that slope is just sweet...
from 3:50 to 3:53 <--- man I didn't even see those guys standing, he almost swept them away (like the other guys in the beggining). Oh, and btw, that caterpillar scared the shit out of me, I'm so lucky i haven't seen one in front of me during skiing :P
Hi there. I've watched a few of your videos and they look great.I am going to take my camcorder this year to try and make a few videos but was wondering how you do it - have you some sort of harness to hold the camera? Helmet cam maybe? Would appreciate more info. Thanks a lot!
In this video, Christo simply held the camcorder and put his ski poles in the other hand. You can see it on his shadow at one point. We normally use a helmet , which is a small camcorder mounted on the side. We also use a very small bullet cam, which because of its size can be mounted just about anywhere. One piece of advice I would give, is to buy a wide angle lens or adaptor. While it makes everything smaller, you get the whole scene in, and it smooths the movement.
Yes I can see that now in his shadow. Unfortunatley I'm not skilled enough to hold a camera as steady as that and ski at such high speeds. I'll look into your other suggestions. Thank you.
-_- dude, freedom goes as far as you disturb nobody. not every mountain is filled with tourists - just take a freeride. if you need slopes: fis is big enough for everybody.
@skidvd Actually he seems to be deliberately "buzzing" people even when the slopes are clearly more than wide enough to allow a large passing margin, he maybe even clips someone near the top. The makes beginners even more nervous. Win or lose I'd clock anyone who hit me or a friend acting so immaturely...
yes, i ski. in my country that would be green/blue. hes only going about 40-50kph... and ive never been to bulgria so i have no idea about the resort, sorry.
I live in New Zealand, and i can honestly say that the green/blue runs are of this difficulty. I know the colour coding thing is an international standard, but i guess it varies from country to country. And btw that aint 45 degrees! respect for this guy though, hes a good skiier. :)
oh and also, if u think the blacks gona be hard here... u should see the double blacks! theyre like 40ft vertical drops!! ive never tried one though, id hurt myself lol.
You are right about the hands down thing DeaneRenata. We gave him the helmet camera, he only had to put it on. Instead he chose to hold the camera, and put both his poles in the other hand !
Of course he makes it look easy, yupoboy. He said he was an Olympic Coach. He has even coached Olympians. He probably has equal to or more experience than one if he is able to train somebody as fine as Olympic quality. You have to be very experienced in order to pass that knowledge on to another, you already have to knows a lot of stuff. Of course the others are going to eat his skiis, they aren't even Olympians. He can take the course hands down, no problem.
It's a bit deceptive really. The camera had a very wide angle lens fitted, and it makes it look closer than it actually is. I got a lot of stick on one skiing forum for him being "reckless".
WOW! And I thought I was crazy. Imagine those poor schmucks just taking their sweet time when this guy blows past em'. I don't know how he missed em' all.

Doesn't looks really fast . It looks like <100 kmh (which is not a good speed for ski)
Probably because slope is quiet easy (blue or green) and this guy didn't have a good possibility to show himself.
But the distance of bypassing skiers is really bad and dangerous. It is really bad behavior on the slope.

So where is your country I'm curious to find out where they grade 45 degrees as a green/blue lol? I would love to see the nursery slopes!
For your info, he is averaging something like 80km/hour.

I live in New Zealand, and i can honestly say that the green/blue runs are of this difficulty. I know the colour coding thing is an international standard, but i guess it varies from country to country. And btw that aint 45 degrees! respect for this guy though, hes a good skiier. :)

Papmporovo, Bansko or Borovetz? Where in Bulgaria is the video filmed?

The clue might be in the video title......

I don't know how he missed em' all.

very very good! How long is this track? Almost 5 km ? Maybe? How is the difference of level from the top to the bottom? regards.
