  • I remember these guys when I was a kid visiting my grandparents at a farm town in Michigan. I'd help them pick the hornworms off their garden. I always felt bad killing them, though.. At night the moths would come across the field from the woods. It was fun to watch the bats whiz around and gobble them up. These moths were so beefy that you could hear them thumping against the window screens.

  • Hello, I was wondering what did you use to feed the moths? I have a couple tobacco hornworms and three of them have pupated (2 ready to come out soon) and no idea what to feed them. Reply ASAP, thanks in advance, and cool video!

  • @Zelda103 Hummingbird formula or even just plain cane sugar. 1 tablespoon and 1/2 cup of water.

  • @thedonbitch - Not necessarily, but you will want something they can climb that ay they can harden and fully expand their wings. This is a critical part of the process.

  • I'm waiting for mine to emerge now too. do I need a verticle pole like that for them to hang on to dry and sclerotize after they emerge or will they do fine in their jar?

  • RUN! THAT THING'S EYES ARE GLOWING!!!
