You can program in the "decel brake" function but most 600cc bikes require very little electric braking on the dyno, between friction of 4 pistons and sets of valvetrain and really short gearing they slow down pretty quick. My roller is only 150lbs not the 950lbs on the dynojet dyno so maybe that is part of it?
Glad it is working good for you. I have gone back to 30 frames per second it seems most people do not get the 60 fps video to play right on their home computers? Glad you like it, more to come. I have some turbo bikes in for dyno work, a turbo scooter incoming, a GSXR drag bike, another late model R1, and some sick efi two stroke stuff to film and edit and load in the coming months.
16,400 real rpm is where the fuel cut is, that is 18k rpm on the stock Yamaha tachometer. Yamaha was actually involved in a bug ass lawsuit over this when the new generation of R6 first came out since they advertised a 17,500 rpm redline when in fact the tach had just been skewed to over read rpm. Many manufacturers do this, Suzuki is really bad and Triumph too.
Love the bike, but it is a shame to see a nice bike like that with chicken strips on the tires. Get in some track days and learn how to rock that bike the way it was meant to be rocked.
It is not my bike, just a customers I tuned. My bikes typically have slicks, balled up rubber all over the edges and odd colors from the heat in the front and rear. Duly noted though.
It takes all sorts, the ones that kill me lately are the BUSA/Chopper guys, you know the 33 rear tire, 14 inch over swingarm as many shiny parts as can be fit on the bike, HID lights (cant slam these, have them on my RSV4 as of yesterday), neons and all the rest of the "wannabe" tuner gear. I tune, but, refuse to even test ride those deathtraps after I tuned a Greg's Custom's GSXR1000 and the rear wheel nut backed off...on the street...lots of fun that one!
I think all of us in the know have seen way too much of that. Crazy how people ruin a great machine all in the name of looks. Just wish they would take half that time and money and learn what the bikes are capable of.
If Barney was too trippy, then 2/3 Blood Brothers will be better for you. I just wish the us was as on to bikes as they are in Europe and Asia. I have been with Eric Bostrom, Miguelle Duhamel, and many others, and no one here knows who they are here.
Shot with a Canon Vixia HF10, definitely the best HD camera in my price range...well until I "buck up" and get the Canon 5D MKII I have been drooling over for some time!
As a track day bike definitely. I am personally not a fan of 600cc street bikes due to lack of grunt or torque. I have ridden about 300k street miles and like to feel big stuff happen when I give a twist of throttle even at low rpms. V-twins and older Japanese inline 4's 1000cc are all about good pull from a 3rd of redline. The only 600-ish type bike I seem to enjoy on the street is Triumph's Daytona 675
Yes most definitly, i have owned all makes of bikes an Yamaha's R6 i have loved so much that i own 4 of them all brand new! they are amazing bikes. The R6 is most technologicly advanced 600cc bike built.
Handling is like no other 600cc i have ridden an i have ridden alot of bikes since i work for a dealer. Yamaha makes by far the best machines out of your typical brands like suzuki, honda, kawasaki. You want a real bike thats got power and is going to last and isnt the same old gixxer that everyone has, go for the R6! its a head turning beautiful machine.
Hey ive been wanting to get a full KR Tuned exhaust but i cant even find a powercommander map for it to even have a starting point. Does anyone know where i can get one?
I will be happy to share the map, being as it is custom for this bike it may or may not be a good starting place for you? All I need is an email address.

Man i should of never sold this bike.

how does the revs die so fast, after letting go of the throttle?
does the dyno have a deacceleration brake or something?

Youtube changed file formats recently and screwed up all my 60 frame videos, all newer files will just be shot at 30 fps to avoid this.

@MicahShoemaker no its just his computer.. if you dont have HD screen or a nice GPU it will be hard to watch HD vids laggfree

Good to here there are some other riders out there. I just hate seeing great bikes wasted on people that don't have a clue what they are able to do.

Indeed, extended arms are for drag bikes and land speed racers, single sided ones for endurance racers...the like.

Exactly, but that's how they role in the states!

I am not saying it is a good idea to bore and stroke the motor, it will be cheaper to get a new R1, than to bore and stroke the 600cc engine I am guessing. Turbo...now that might be interesting.
MicahShoemaker 2 years ago
Not yet man :(
I havent looked into stroker or bore kits yet, just might have to do that.
2jztt6Spd 2 years ago
Do they make big bore kits? Stroker kits? BST wheels are very nice and make a huge difference in how the bike feels. Still no trade, NSX for Supra?
MicahShoemaker 2 years ago
Alright............. video footage looks good Micah, thnx.
Next will be the 520 conversion, & some light wheels. BST's !!!! HA..HA..HAAA
