i have opinions about Paarthurnax i think he is evil but helps so he can rule over the dragons am not going to hurt him just yet am just gonna wait to see if my opinoion is true.
Anyone who kills paarthunax is a dumbfuck. The fucking quest is optional. If you kill paarthunax you miss out on game content. You dont get a bonus cutscene at the end, and the greybeards wont help you forma peace treaty with the stormcloaks and imperials. Not to mention your only reward for killing paarthunax is esbern will now make you potions. BIG FUCKING DEAL.
You don't have to kill Paarthurnax and you can still have Blades as your friends and their quest by typing in consol command : setstage MQPaarthurnax 100
say you want to upgrade ur one handed weapon then just get under paarthurnax and attack him with it n slowly u level up and ur 1 handed weapon rises too.ohh yea u can kill him i did,just attack him for a while..he'll get really pissed then run away come back the next day then attack him he'll get mad again but one u take his health down hes dead....make sure u have a teammate

they did a terrible job with this quest, it should have been kill paarthunax or kill the blades, killing the blades would start a new quest line with the greybeards and kill parthunax would start a new questline with the blades

and he then later helped YOU dovahkin to save the world + hes a very social one hes been up in that mountain for millions of years by himself the poor thing i think loneliness is enough punishment

and people tend to make a character that look like themselves and name the character after themselves and i think that sometimes people unconsciously make characters that represent a hidden persona theres something special in all of us after all so i think its hard to not accidently treat it like real life

OR you can kill him, fast travel immediately before his skin vanishes, fast travel back, resurrect(pc only), fast travel immediately again so his body doesnt vanish. Then you fast travel back, quickly talk to him before his body starts to disinegrate/disappear, while your talking to him his skin disappears and he remains alive but as a skeleton....which in my opinion is even more bad ass!! and you complete the quest :) warning! if you dont start a convo in time his body will disappear.

@jazzoj5 They won't communicate with you as long as you dont kill Paarthurnax. So that neans you can do nothing with the Blades until he's dead. If you ask me, FUCK THE BLADES, I'd go kill them instead, if there was a quest for it.

And he's also a a big glitch wich allows you to level up your skills - God bless him. Plus, after beating the main quest Paarthurnax becomes unkillable - if you let him alive there will be a short scene with him after you have defeated Alduin for good, and he will tell you that he will try to round up the other dragons and bring them into the Way of the Voice, teaching them how to be peaceful.
@MrsMeowCale That isn't true, when I defeated the main quest then I went around for a couple of days (dark brotherhood quests and thieves guild quests) and then I decided to kill him, He died. And even though he said he would round up the other dragons every time I would go back there he was just sitting there and fucking dragons would still try and kill me. I think my second play-through I will keep him alive, he is a cool character.

does anybody REALLY want to kill paarthurnax? I mean, he helps you beat Alduin, gives you one of the better shouts, and lest you meitate. It feels weird killing him, like killing a freind that loans you money but never makes you pay it back.
Yeah ofcourse! kill the first dragon that is very kind to you. He even learns you the fire breath to the max. And hes very kind and wise. And what did those blades give you? Delphine helped you to kill one dragon. And esbern. Well fuck him, hes bugged anyway.. xd
@MrGuitarCover321 just to clarify, he only teaches you level one fire breath. Killing him does not affect outcome of storyline in anyway except that you get access to quests from delphine and esbern.
@borgese1NA No he doesnt teach me level 1 for fire breath. When i talking to him you can tell he you want to medidate on the voice. And you can pick 3 things. i did that and i had level 3 fire breath all the sudden :D. And i know id doesnt affect the main story line. But why care? he has a more important role in the storyline cuz he actualy knows how to kill alduin! And hes a kind dragon ffs! why kill him xD

He can be killed after the main quest line, he's not immortal... Blade's quest can still be completed, even though it's not showing up in the journal anymore. I know, because I tried it out.
You can only kill him after you learn the shout to call Odahviing from him... And if you complete the main quest line before you kill him, he cannot die... So only a small window for his death...
@FugitiveLama That can only be done in the little gap of time after u kill Alduin, the game then tried to place u with either Greybeards or The Blades, if you wait too long you automatically side with the Greybeards.
I myself have the quest to kill him, but since i waited too long I can't, he won't die.

@xLycosax Well earlier before esbern told me to kill him i tried and he really sucks fighting = 2 minutes with bare hands(i'm a khajit) but then I reloaded the actually game where i'm never gonna kill him

does anybody REALLY want to kill paarthurnax? I mean, he helps you beat Alduin, gives you one of the better shouts, and lest you meitate. It feels weird killing him, like killing a freind that loans you money but never makes you pay it back.

Yeah ofcourse! kill the first dragon that is very kind to you. He even learns you the fire breath to the max. And hes very kind and wise. And what did those blades give you? Delphine helped you to kill one dragon. And esbern. Well fuck him, hes bugged anyway.. xd

@MrGuitarCover321 just to clarify, he only teaches you level one fire breath. Killing him does not affect outcome of storyline in anyway except that you get access to quests from delphine and esbern.

@borgese1NA No he doesnt teach me level 1 for fire breath. When i talking to him you can tell he you want to medidate on the voice. And you can pick 3 things. i did that and i had level 3 fire breath all the sudden :D. And i know id doesnt affect the main story line. But why care? he has a more important role in the storyline cuz he actualy knows how to kill alduin! And hes a kind dragon ffs! why kill him xD

The Blades will ask you to kill him later on. Whatever you do DON'T listen to them. You will get something in the end if you spare Paarthurnax.
Also another reason why not to kill him. Dragons are awesome

He can be killed after the main quest line, he's not immortal... Blade's quest can still be completed, even though it's not showing up in the journal anymore. I know, because I tried it out.

You can only kill him after you learn the shout to call Odahviing from him... And if you complete the main quest line before you kill him, he cannot die... So only a small window for his death...

@FugitiveLama That can only be done in the little gap of time after u kill Alduin, the game then tried to place u with either Greybeards or The Blades, if you wait too long you automatically side with the Greybeards.
I myself have the quest to kill him, but since i waited too long I can't, he won't die.
