@tjorvendc Hey, I got the YLOD this morning and im having it repaired. I had Modern Warfare 3 in it. This is how to get your skyrim out.

(1) Turn on the mains power button.

(2) press the3e power button on the front of your PS3

(3) As it is starting up quickly swipe over the eject button.

(4) This will eject the disc as your PS3 shows the YLOD.

(5) VOILA! You have your skyrim back!

By the way it's a amazing game i would act the same if this happened to me. I hope this helps with you.

Thanks man. It worked for me.

When you do this trick, the machine will produce a fan noise which after 4 seconds, I let go of the Eject button and quickly press the eject button and voila, I got the disc

Worked for my 40GB that died from the latest update. My Deus Ex game lives on! But on the 80gb I have that died. It does not work on. Does it depend on firmware version? I don't think the 80gb been updated for a very long time.

@thegoferj yea. sony sends you your game back in a cover. I just sent mines in for the ylod. it was 140 bucks to get serviced but i got the coveted 60 GB backwards compatible model and i am not risking loosing it. Lol.

@firetrack1 Actually, the ps3's light only turns yellow and starts flashing a few seconds after it turns on. In the meanwhile, it stays green. This may give some people enough time to eject the disk. On the other hand, this hasn't helped with mine, and my friends black ops is still in my ps3.
