  • hidden gem of a band!

in a way metal evolution lead me here, I was searching for fire by Arthur Brown and wanted a metal cover, these guys had a sick cover

  • sorry, "good" friend lol

  • i remember a goof friend of mine bought this as an import when it first came out, blew us away, metal then was special, sigh...i'm old

  • See this is the only acceptable form of lord of the rings fan metal.

  • the cover looks like something out of Skyrim!

  • badass album cover

  • what does the name mean?

  • @miroslavgajdos lord of the rings for more details

  • If you don't worship this band, someone should've put you out of your misery a long time ago.

  • THE FROST-THE FIRE! IT BURNS INSIDE OF MEEEEEEE!!!!!!! YEAHHHHH!!!!

  • FUCK!! I love this band.

  • METALLLL!!!!!!!

  • Heard the song and 5 minutes later I ordered the Album. Love this sound

  • over 2 years ago i finally find this fantastic cult album. at first i was a little disapointed by the voice ot tim but a few hours of listening and i was totaly deep in the epic/dark cirith ungol music. this is not only music but a journey trough time and space !!!!

  • I'm related to the drummer!

  • @kik805

    cool \m/

  • @kik805 I talk to Rob via email occasionally and he's a nice guy.

  • Rockin

    \m/

  • I don't think you can compare Cirith Ungol to any other band, the closes band I've ever heard is probably early Suidakra but that is my opinion

  • Listen to Metal Sceptre in youtube maibe you like.

  • This just has to be THE most badass album cover ever

  • Incredible solo

  • Not to date myself but I first heard these guys back in the 80's and well this and Atom Smasher just about took the top of my head off . What a rush . GOOOOOD Stuff .

  • The bass sounds bad on this album but it's awesome nevertheless.

  • greatt........... i like this

  • Que buena mierda de Bandon. Que bueno que fue afectada por la guerra de los compresores de los 80's.

  • hehe i love the cover ... just pure fucking high fantasy!

  • *.* stormbringer boock

  • Good old Heavy Metal. Damn, I wish I had been born some years earlier!!

  • @evermetal2

Early birth isn't that good. You get to hear all the bad shit too. Some stand out as classics like Cirith Ungol (they pronounce it as sirith ungol, not kirith ungol as in Tolkien, the Pass of the Spider, never bothered to read the appendixes I see).

Heavy metal has always had its great shit, and great failures, which people like but it's not really that great or interesting. Cirith Ungol avoids that in their first three albums, but their last 1991 album is sort of let down.

  • @Simpson654 Isn't it what has happened with many great bands? Omen, Heavens Gate, Savatage?

  • That riff that starts at 0:54 reminds me of some other song, what is it?? It's driving me nuts!

  • That riff that starts at 0:54 reminds me of some other song, what is it?? It's driving me nuts!

  • They are both cult bands and ragging around with questions who is better makes no justice for either one....

  • I personally prefer Cirith Ungol to Manilla Road.

  • both are awesome bands, chaos descends and finger of scorn from ungol are amazing songs and lemuria ,the ninth wave and the deluge from manilla are fucking amazing

  • IM JUST A ROCK AND ROLL CLOWN

  • these guys would have probably been my favourite band if this gus wasnt singing...... hes not realy my cup of tea

  • He sounds like Dr rockzo......or a neurotic goblin...

  • Comment removed

  • Not comparable by any stretch of imagination. What's next, comparing Pagan Altar and Ironsword?

  • cirith ungols music sound simillar to manilla road and they started around the same time, and alot of tthere music deals with fantasy stuff just like manilla road.

  • Nah, I do not consider them comparable at all - They're both Heavy Metal, true, but I would argue that Cirith Ungol are a world apart from Manilla Road. A lot of people rip on Cirith Ungol for being too unconventional and too weird for Heavy Metal because they're often put up to Manilla Road's template.

Even then, I'd say Cirith Ungol achieved more with King of the Dead than Manilla Road did with their whole discography.

  • that may be true.

  • That's a stretch to say the least (referring to your second statement on MR's disco.)

Seriously MR have had a massive impact on the underground scene, as have Cirith Ungol. I see no reason to rip on either. Both are amongst the most influential and ripping bands of all time!

  • Can I get a definition on "achieved more"? If you mean wider recognition and better album sales, well you're probably on the money. I heard about Cirith Ungol long before I was aware of Manilla Road.

  • Same, same.

  • He rules!!!!

  • i can understand that, tim baker has a special voice that can turn some people off. love it or hate it

  • Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

    What a Solo

    \mm/

  • I don't know about the guy's vocals...

Not too much a fan of them.

    The music is amazing though!

  • this song has on of the best solos i've ever heard in Metal and Rock! Plus one hell of a structure!

Μπράβο ρε φίλε που ανέβασες αυτήν την κομματάρα !!
