Rubbish! Have you never heard of opinion polls? When we hear that a certain party or candidate is ahead of their rivals, do you think the pollsters have asked every eligible voter in the country to reveal their voting intentions?
Admittedly, a few hundred may not be a large enough sample to draw accurate conclusions from (1,000 is normal) but that apart, he was right to claim what he did.
Conspiracy Theorists and all kinds of nutcases don't think about larger picture, but take pride in fact they receive more positive votes than negatives...
I call it Dung Effect. No surprise such material attracts more flies than singing birds.
