Here's what's up. Zac Efron and Drew Seelys voices got blended together because apparently Zacs voice wasn't strong enough or good at the time, but he did sing all by himself in the 2nd and 3rd movie. And people asking why they chose Zac for Troy is because he had chemistry with Vanessa during the auditions.
i hate HSM! all disney ever makes is this stupid stuff for teenage girls (Hannah Montana, High School Musical,Jonas Brothers,Cheetah Girls) with the stupid teen pop music and the cheesy dance numbers and the boring dating relationship stuff.they never make good entertainment anymore...like the lion king, lilo and stitch, hercules,american dragon,...those were great movies and shows.disney needs to start making this stuff again and throw away the teen pop trash!

Because Zac Efron doesn't sing the HSM songs, Drew Seely does. Zac Efron is only the actor for Troy in the movie, while Drew sings the songs. I'm pretty sure Zac is jealous of Drew singing on stage with his girlfriend though :o
Actually no. You could also be right, but that's not the reason why Zac is not in here. He only sang two of all the high school musical songs, mainly because he was a baratone, I believe. people are acting like drew is the best singer you've ever heard. yeah, of course he's great, but he only helped zac in hsm1. zac is the more successful one, with hsm2 and hairspray - why do you think that is? because, he is TALENTED!! of course drew is good, but no one can be Troy Bolton quite like Zac Efron, so stop trying to replace him. xx

he was not in canada!! they had drew sing it becuz zac's voice is an octive lower than the rest of the cast's. but he is singing in the second one becuz everybody got so mad about it. he CAN sing, probably better than drew from the looks of this clip.
