Great work, guys. Really special in many ways, and I went in with low or no expectations. Everybody of course has their own associations with music and they're all equally bunk, but for me it's the sound of confronting a self-identity grown so big, it's nearly out of control and empty.
Very satisfying to the ears and excellent stereo and depth while my head hovers just above my laptop on the coffee table, eyes shut. Hey, maybe you or someone out there can direct me to a schematic for a mini( micro?)synth- it was the one that had a single LM324 in it and about 8 knobs and a sensitivity adjust on the side. It was in a black metal 'project box' and it clipped to the rim of a drum. I used to know who made it, but forgot. I modified mine and would love to build one for my kid.
The Quadrasynth was the first Alesis I owned and the forerunner of my Alesis QS7 (the black one in my set up). All my synths and organ are digital. Iow: pianokeys and buttons in stead of "qwerty" but still a computer. Some of the sytnhs you hear on this film are analog, iow: the sounds are coming from transistors.
The "sync thing" is like a slate (or "clacker") used in video/film productions that's used to keep the video footage from all three camera in sync with each other in post production. It makes it easy to line the footage up with each other for editing purposes. It's a "sync point". All three cameras will have that sync sound recorded, and therefore the editor will find that sound on all three cameras and line up the footage accordingly.
Brilliant, superb live performance - much harder than it looks: to keep it all together and prevent mushiness, synthis require precise orchestration, and you've got it: in the style of Moondawn by Klaus Schulze, especially opening bars!
I absolutely adore this. What a great couple of guys...are they Canadian? Where can I find more music like this?? I agree wholeheartedly with Brainstormer below...this would be GREAT on vinyl! Keep it up, fellas...beautiful stuff.
@synthwiz He..know where that is at, I'm orginially from So. Cal. But have been through your neck of the woods many times on my way to the Mt. Shasta Lava caves up near the border..I think just south of Kalamath Falls ( Forgive me if spelled wrong ) Great sounds there, love this kind of ambient music...put headphones on, turn the lights out...oh and don't forget to put the space suit on before I leave the airlock...thanks for the sounds.
oh SHIT!!!!! hollllly crap!!!! where the hell is this world? i want to go to a place where people do this for fun. i so wish i had people to twist knobs with...
jeezus you guys.. this is great.. sorry if i'm supposed to know who you are i don't .. but this is analog heaven to me..i love it so pretty.. so nice!!!!!!!!!
