Im in 8th grade i was going to upload a video of me playing this song because we played it at band camp over the summer. I dont think i want to upload it now that i have watched this because my playing is not even close to how good yours is. Im shur you have been playing alot longer than the 4 years i have :D
@SaraLynn25830 You should upload it! I'm no where near as talented as James Galway (who first inspired me to play the piece) but I still wanted to share what I could :)
I'd like to see your version. Please tag me and I'll make sure to comment.
@sumersig Yes,classical players are bedevilled with too much ''learned'' vibrato in all sorts of places and throw it around like snuff at a wake! It can sound so artificial. In trad we also have players who put on so many ornaments that it would be difficult to discern the original tune.
Beautifull ^_^ I heard this song on an album of SIr James Galway that I just *had* to have. ^^" I think you did verry well with it. A personal favorite of mine..I've actualy been trying to find it out by ear... Aaaah well. I can do with listening to you! XD Thank you for the post!
nice! good vibrota. i'd have to agree though, it can be a bit heavy sometimes and almost sound hallow if u know what i mean. also try and relax your flute so your shoulder isnt over rotated and ur not holding the flute so high,
your vibrato is lovely and even, idk what powell is talking about, u did awesome on this song! very beautiful tone as well, and ur pleasing to look at ;)
GREAT interpretation,I love your vibrato and the sound is great :) makes me go and drab my flute and play some,I haven't played for few years, too bad:P
ps.Brilliant Playing , lovely balanced vibretto , too often its over played but youve got it bang on the money, thanks for posting .

The overly vibrato'd on every note killed it for me.

@Lisnageeragh You never needed to respond, as i stated it was in my own opinion, i don't care about the learned vibrato or classical whatever.

Just beautiful. I used to play the flute about half a century ago. Not so well
as you, however.
Thanks for the melodic post.

People have commented on the elevation of my flute before. It's something I need to work on. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The tune is already pretty sappy so take it back a notch with the syrup.
When you play with that over done vibrato is sounds like melodrama and intonation problems.

Good job. The vibrato is a little heavy at times, but you've got a really nice tone. Great 'ease' to the sound.
