  • I can't find Balrog - A call from the grave anywhere on youtube :(

  • @TheEduki its a cover, original song is from Bathory but for better quality you should listen to the Dark Funeral version.

  • summoning?

  • Where is Burzum?

  • sounds like black metal :D

  • love this type of warrior themed metal music!

  • If you like Summoning, check out Kinstrife & Blood, they are exactly the same style.

  • no

    amont amath is good

    and voivod,yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I would expected to see Summoning in this list but it's a good one neatherless

  • where the fuck are Cirith Gorgor?

  • @DemonLovesJoanna Cirith Gorgor is after Fangorn on the list.

  • NOOO i accidentally clicked dislike but i spammed the like button for 5 minutes

i was supposed to click Add to

  • @mysteryrocker123 haha i had the same problem once

  • Am I the only one who noticed that the Balrog song is a Bathory cover?

I am a huge fan of Summoning, Nasgul and Blind Guardian but I am glad they aren't on this list and I got too hear 9 new bands! (I had already heard of Avathar.)

    Thanks for uploading this!

  • Where is Summoning on this? They are one of the best LOTR-themed metal bands.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 100% agree

Summoning is the best black metal band!!!

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 probably because Summonning isn't underground

  • @StarkNed

They are compared to say "Mainstream" metal bands like Iron Maiden.

  • why the hell isnt pergamum on this list.

  • this isnt metal......

  • this first band should be have every album burned

  • I like the early new wave metal bands with the hand drawn album covers because I collect vinyls

  • Balrog's album cover looks like Ozzy to me.

  • Wuthering Heights is inspired by Bronte...

  • i was hoping for something other that the machismo bullshit that is death metal there is a reason that this is underground it is the fucking screaming it sounds so fucking stupid i love the instrument speed and tempo but you throw in gurgling vomit it obviously takes it down like five fucking notches. stop lying to yourself thinking you are so misunderstood and so in-tolerated the reason why people hate you is because you are lying to yourself but your to afraid to admit it

  • @TheBiocide Dude it takes alot of guts to get up on a stage and scream at people!!!!! YOU! should try it! lol

  • The music by these bands is awesome.

    But there's a lack of singing, I don't understand

a word they're trying to say.

We need more singing, no offense to anyone :-)

  • @rockordingstar Don't you you have anything better to do that trolling around on each video you come by. Ignorant...

  • all gay stupid polk devil worship gay bands

  • these bands suck.

  • summonig? cirith gorgor? nazgul?

  • Stop with the "Where is band X" remonstrance. By now, it's been done on every one of the Internet's many climes. I'm certain the respective uploader/compiler of this particular video doesn't appreciate it, but that's beyond us both. The inherent subjectivity involved in drawing boundary lines... the actual participants in a musical tribute of a certain style/belief is obviously dictated by the heart and mind of the user in charge of the productions longevity/existence.

  • Some good stuff in hear, nice work

  • And where the FUCK is Summoning? Hahahaha... that's the leading J.R.R - based Metal band on this earth!

  • @anarticum check out part 1

  • wut about the band Gorgoroth? Gorgoroth is a territory in Mordor

  • @toastedtesticles yeah but it's lyrics aren't based in Tolkien

  • Where the FUCK is Summoning. Without them, Tolkien Metal wouldn't exist.

  • Summoning ? o__________O

  • does anyone know any good epic/traditional doom bands that have not surfaced in to the mainstream scene??

    thx.

  • @MsElectriclover2 , try Scald from Russia

  • @DaveMustaneWanabe they're one of the first metal bands i've ever heard...thx anyway though

  • Try The Morningside

  • Vocalists have no part in LOTR inspired music. It just takes away from the imagination of the reader.

  • alright the bands are underground for a fucking reason....pretty much all of the music industry has been taken over by rap and crappy alternive music

  • lol @ Summoning being underground. I suppose Abigor is also underground

  • Where is rivendell?

  • Comment removed

  • A hobbit, duhh!

  • Summoning...Anyone? O_o

  • I wouldnt really call Summoning that underground

  • Hmm trueeee they're on MTV every day!!! I love them just as the hored of fans in every country world wide! Damn man they're even more famous then Tokio Hotel!!! ....happy now? Don't fucking TALK about shit you don't know about! Both Michael Gregor and Richard Lederer live in common houses and what they can barely pay an appartment with the money they get for Summoning. How's that mainstream dude?

  • Huh, calm down lol

that just depends on what do you consider as underground, they're not that unknown anymore...oh well theyre awesome and thats what matters

  • 9 out of 10 metalheads I know, underground lovers, don't know Summoning. It's just your vision on reality mate

  • Indeed, I don't know many metalheads that have not heard of Summoning

  • Im with phantomlord91 here.

Summoning is underground... Ofc there might be different layers of underground and summoning might not be in the bottom but they should still be counted as underground imo.

This list really should have Summoning in there imo.

    Still thx for the list!

People who look here might also want to look at Nazgul.

  • calm down dude :) Relax

  • Just sick of those posers not knowing shit about what they're talking you know? ;)

  • I knowxD I know xD

  • me too. You know it completely annoys me when other "metal fans" only listen to more mainstream metal bands or at least they are mainstream in the metal world. Most of them never take the liberty of finding some true underground bands. I

  • Very true words man

  • @darkslayerryu Agreed it bothers me when people dont adknowledge venom as giving birth to extreme metal. They can listen to their iron maiden and metallica all they want to but i only listen to less known thrash bands of that era like venom, celtic frost, and kreator. Other than that only black, death, and doom for me!

  • i think that wuthering heights don't belong to this compilation because they are power metal (folk, sypho..), all others are black metal.

  • Props to you for knowing that! Not many people do.

  • First of All ...those new underground bands have had the same influence as the elite black metal bands...but Summoning has the most prominent main Tolkien Black Metal essence of all the times...Hail Summoning!!

Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame...

  • I've heard that first riff in balrog's song in I think a dark funeral song.

I'll leave you to decide who copied whom......

  • crap

  • Well! Zabiis is pretty good! So is Elexorien.

Its a pity no one takes the Lord of the Rings seriously anymore. I wrote a metal song based on a single page of the Fellowship.

  • OBEY ME!!!!!!!!!

  • wtf is this shit?

  • i know but thats how the mountain is called.. Amon Sul. Amon Amarth is what they made from. it was based a little bit on it because of the name. but the songs has nothing to do whit it, + amon ain't that underground. amon is more populair.

    and its based on Vikings.

i don't know a song thats based on LOTR.

but i know what u try to tell me, so i hope you understand what im trying to tell u :D

    and AA still rocks!!

  • Amon Amarth??

the name has a little to do whit it.

but Amon Amarth hasn't anything to do with an band inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien

  • he said UNDERGROUND

  • Fangorn - The old caverns where did you get this`?

  • Where's- Summoning!!!

  • Elexorien !!! 2:05 super

  • Where the hell is summoning!?!....

  • on part 1

  • Ah... Hah... It was late that night... XD

  • 1:00 sounds like smiegel himself

  • Also, where can I get some Avathar material?

  • Nice to see Wuthering Heights there!! I have that whole album uploaded if anyone wants to listen.

  • Surprised to not see Rivendell here... Vordven had some truly nice vocals!

  • Fangorn changed their name to rivendell. so technically they are here.

  • please upload full versions of these songs!!

    Thanks

  • I agree with salientlabyrinth... Its so hard to find these on youtube so please do upload full versions of them.

  • Never heard of any of these bands, yet some of them sound good. Elexorian has an epic album cover :O

  • Elexorien rulz!

  • Balrog fucking rulez

Too bad i can´t find it on youtube anymore...

  • I only know Balrog !

    Thx for uploading these bands!

    Favorite!

  • "8. Balrog - A call from the grave"

Is the Cirith Gorgor song :)

    Nice vid

  • Another band that has been inspired by J.R.R. Tolken is Led Zepplin. they did a song called the Battle of Evermore based on the book The Silmarillian. Heart also did a cover of this song.

  • i agree, my view of what is underground was different back when i made this collection,,

  • Battlelore?

  • Vordven is great, the vocals are really awesome!

  • i wonder if you could upload the complete song "The moonlight in the northern sky" ? Would be nice =)

  • Such a shame "Vordven" only recorded one full length,,they have such a unbelievable sound,,truly beautifull,,this is what Summoning should of sounded like,,,try "Zargof" who have a sound very similar to "Vordven",,, where is polish doom/death band "Mordor"?! there demo "Nothing" and the follow up full length "A Prayer To..." are true obscure classics..

  • Ephel Dueth !!!

    Wheres Ephel Dueth!!!

  • Where the hell is Blind Guardian?!

  • blind guardian is not here because the intention of this vid is to present underground bands, you can say a lot of things about blind guardian, but they are not underground.

  • Try Witchking

  • @TrueReaper777 BG isn't underground..

  • Two other bands are Witchking and Lothloryen. By the way only Wuthering Heights - Far From The Madding Crowd is based on Tolkien.

  • No, all of these bands are either inspired or based on his works

  • Ok, I guess your right!! WH is still an amazing metal band though!

  • lmfao is the first one Korn?

  • wtf, lol? i cant really see what you are referring to

  • the first song sounds like SHoots and ladders at the beggining by Korn.

  • This songs are very good great video but you should do a song from Summoning into they are also f**ing great

  • Summoning is a great band, but they are a bit to mainstream to fit into this kind of collection.

  • Yes that's true ;)

  • no i mean they doesent mainstream

  • if you are talking about summoning,, no they are not mainstream,, but they are not underground either

  • Videos like this piss me off because the bands are so awesome but I don't know where to buy the albums. =*[

  • check out my prfile for the link;)

  • Thanks!

    =]

  • Wow this is awesome.

    Thanks for making this vid.

  • ja

    ensifeum

  • Ensiferum is always awesome

  • ensiferum sucks, its pop all the way. the stuff in this video is true metal!

  • well their new videos like we rock is more pop because of the girls dancing around etc but I love petri's vocals.

  • Well, that would be Norther. Petri's other band.

  • lol I didnt even notice that I typed that. I was just thinking of him saying that petri was pop all the way so I went into my own fantasy world.

  • surprised to not see Bane of isildur here

  • hmmmm

  • Nice idea.
