Nice concept but bad execution. Its a rotation of 5 or 6 regardless of the number. That's not authentic. You dialed a "1" and the sound was a 5 or 6. You spun a "0" (full rotation) and it was a 5 or 6 sound. 1 is a SHUNK sound (quick and only 1 cog) 0 is the full rotation and longer duration. Home touch phones are close to rotary phones when set to "pulse" (not tone) Press 6 and you hear 6 clicks in a row. I've dialed full phone numbers using the switch hook only. GOOGLE: Switch hook!

Just enter rotary+dial+phone in the google images search and you'll see you're wrong. 999 takes the longest and could therefore hardly ever be dialed accidentaly
