@angelfish43 Yes because that's what God cares about and not that we are just praising him... Reply from sarcastic believer tired of Christians having a narrow minded view of how we are supposed to share Christ with other people. Yes!!! I said it!!!! As Jesus throws the money changers out of the temple... OUT!
@vwwhitman You brought your anger and sarcasm for no reason - my comment wasn't meant as a slight to your singing gift to God or ability. I was searching for a different version, because it matters to me that things are correct. And if someone didn't know the correct arrangement or tune then it could be perpetuated incorrectly. If you are aware that it's not technically correct and you acknowledge that but make the decision that your church wants to sing it that way then go for it.
@angelfish43 You're missing the point. There's a 1000 ways a person can sing a song. If a person sings it for God's glory, who cares if they remix it, sing it with a banjo, rap it, turn it into a children's song, add yankee doodle dandy to the end of it, slap out the melody with a spoon, or sing it exactly like Basset. Are we focused on God's purpose for our lives or are we concerned about keeping religious tradition? When you see God move a nonbeliever 'cause you sang it just so, let me know.
Martha Basset sings it the correct way..
