  • 13:08 is just like the jersey shore

  • These people are seeting themselves up for failure. A simple education would suffice.

  • 9:41 Frodo

  • This is hilarious:)

  • at 8:30 the girl with the black hair reminds me of Xena warrior princess hehe from the side she looks like her.

  • The thing is, right, a woman getting married and spending all of her time raising her kids and cooking and cleaning isn't bad or sexist. As long as they have the opportunity to do other things if they want to, and get the respect they deserve for doing what they do. These women get barely any repect, are treated unfairly (like with the alcahol, and needing permission for everything), and getting them out of school early mean that they don't get the opportunity to do anything else.

  • where are the parents if 13yrold has to take care of her siblings

do they work 7 days a week??

  • being a princess for a day and then a slave ever after, how sad is that??

  • Where do they get SO MUCH money????????? Those weddings, cakes and dresses must cost a fortune!

  • how bad must gay gypsies be..

  • You know, I have yet to see one attractive guy in this show, yet all the girls are beautiful...

  • I can't believe my bride ain't ginger. I pacifically said I wanted a ginger bride.

  • wats up with the big busts? all of them hav it.. must be some irish gene lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Pathrissia Glad I'm not the only one to notice that XD

  • where are their parents!?

  • umm where are the parents while their kid is cooking, cleaning, getting the other kids ready for school??????

  • this is BULLSHIT!!!!!! it should be illegal to pull kids out of school..... it should be required to go to school till u graduate high school, and if they dont go, parents should go to jail

  • @lasvegas89032 It is illegal i think, but because they usually move around so much it is hard to keep track of the children.

  • Who takes care of things financialy if the husband dies? Does the wife and children go back to her family?

  • It's terrible to pull a girl out of school at age 11 - you're pretty much removing any chance they have at doing anything significant with their lives.

  • It's the same for any woman with a lot of children, no childcare and nowhere else to go. We, outside the gypsy world, just deny it

  • If she's divorced, how does she live in such a nice house?

  • @uofc57 Because she got out of the kitchen, and got a non-Gypsy job, which probably paid better. Trust me--you can't get alimony from a man who doesn't pay taxes.

  • I wonder what the runaway stats for the travelers. I am assuming some girls do take off from the life I mean they ALL can't just be subservient lol

  • I'm so glad it's not like this anymore in the states.

  • im sure it does but does any society ever do anything all perfect?

  • they have too becuz its way to get ready for marriage and kids we get married

  • Maybe they keep them out of school to keep them dependant on the men. Idk

Who would hire a girl whose only ever cleaned after her family with a elementary education?

  • " do u know what i mean? "... yeah paddy i know what u mean

  • u know what, atleast masculinity and true feminity are celebrated in this culture......boys grow to be men and girls to women....not like modern society, boys stay boys and girls either have to grow to be both a man and a woman supporting her kids because because her baby daddy is gone.....modern society is corrupt...I would rather my daughter get married young and be a house wife than be a crack whore and have 12 children by the time she is 30

  • @italia9284 What you call modern women are strong women who are able to provide for themselves and who are able to make their own decision, not depending on others. In what way does that make them whores? Plus, people nowadays don't have 12 children, but more like 2-3.

  • @italia9284 From what I'm seeing it tends to be, Let the guys be drunk all the time and do what they want, and make the girl clean up after them and never experience anything. Which is just sad.....I understand what you are saying about modern society, but this has things wrong with it as well.

  • I have hope for Noreen...if she continues to wait to get married, the older you get, typically the more self assured. She seems to take pride in her work, and maybe if by continuing to be educated and be a bit different, she will break free from traditions and do what she wants with her life.

  • is it just me or do they all have enormous boobs?

  • @MorganaTransatlantic

a lot of brit girls tend to have giant fucking tits.

  • I do not think we should JUDGE them Anymore then we can judge ourselves, this is what they have been born into, U would be different too if you were born into it. Maybe a bit Cocky ( as the men aka boys are) or completely obedient (as the Females all are)

  • this is heartbreaking..

  • UHH WAS HE JERKING OFF AT 11:56

  • I wonder if the young men who see no problem with diving in and frightening a boater like that would ever think that their actions may cause some of the negative opinions towards them. I've watched several documentaries on Travelers after seeing this one and most are covered in negative opinions based on Traveler actions. The same opinion exists in my area of the US towards some minority groups yet it's assumed that it's the color of their skin, not the action that's despised.

  • This is so unbelievably sad. Seeing those girls saying they're happy, while actually looking like they're about to cry is so heartbreaking.

  • Cant believe this exists... :(

  • this series is like watching a train wreck.

  • @MARCBSTN

you keep watching even tough its horrible

  • "Do you know what I mean?" XD

  • why do the children have to do evrything? where are the parents???

  • I just love to listen to them talk, LOVE that accent

  • @RastaGirl331 the only downfall is that after watching 3 episodes in a row...you kind of start talking with that accent...unless I'm the only one XD

  • @pinkpokadot100 ahaha their accent gets stuck in my head too

  • those boys are living in the 50s haha. attitude and look

  • @cospi212 lmao

  • The guys are all so full of themselfs.......

  • 9:50 My dad beats us kids and emotionally abuses us and my mom. And he doesn't even have the excuse of drinking. My mom reuses to leave him. I hate it.

  • 6:27 Me too. I want people ot be jelous of my wedding, but mine isn't going to be over the top or anything. I want something romantic with candles serving as the only light source and stone walls and an elegant A-line gown. That's what makes me feel like a princess.

  • 0:05 Same here. A girl can NEVER ask a boy out and after he asks her out, she has to wait before replying. If she asks him out/replies too fast, she's obviously after something and unmarried girl should have that. Its shameful.

That's what my family believes because they are Christian. They don't know, but I am Neopagan, but I do follow this belief because my Lady is a virgin goddess.

  • Lizzie's wedding song was KC & JoJo's All My Life...Classy.

  • They never wear seat belts

  • I cant belive they showed the guy masterbateing on tv.

  • 11:55 omg he's wanking off in public disgusting piece of dirty shit.

  • 9:54 WTF does Joseph have no head???

  • Gypsy men are jerks! D:>

  • That guy said "do you know what i mean" after every sentence

  • there is nothing wrong with taking care of a family, but if the girls r raised to be ONLY housewives then where is the mother being the housewife?!! why is your daughter who isnt a housewife yet doing everything, SHE IS SUPPOSED TO HELP NOT DO EVERYTHING.

  • NO i don't know what you mean stop asking! LOL

  • HAHAHA he's jacking off at 11:54

  • fucking pikey cunts

  • Sick. Their culture is absolutely horrific. I wouldn't be surprised if the gypsy woman suicide rate is through the roof! They have disgustingly horrific lives, living basically as slaves!!

  • @suracs

You realize this is how absolutely everyone lived basically up until a few generations ago? lol

  • @jessomglol

besides the living in trailers part. but the women's rights movement was only around 50 years ago... and only a few areas of the world have even changed at all. the only reason you find a woman's role in gypsy culture so terrible is because you were obviously raised in one of those areas...

  • @jessomglol True, although i'm hoping with less of the very much expected fights, the sexualisation of little girls and that horrible 'grabbing' process... the thing is though, we're in 2011 now, we should have progressed past that.

  • Noreen is the best one, out of the show. She really knows her culture, and is able to put it into perspective to others who aren't familiar with the specific culture.

  • Where is the bride's parents? -=)

  • how in the world is any of this fair it really sickens me and the fact that no one questions it is just sad

  • These girls shouldn't put up with the violence anymore.

  • WHat is he doing at 11.54

  • The girls don't really look happy. After their wedding day they are basically slaves to their husband. Horrible.

  • Do all gypsy girls have giant boobs?

  • What is that boy DOING? ?? And.. wow, they are all jerks!

  • I just dont get where the mom is????? so basically once they are married and their oldest daughter turns 11 or so the moms have nothing to do or what???

  • swimming in your socks?? hideous...heading to hunt for women wft is this?? the wilderness??

  • the guys have choice and the girls have a mop.

  • "Hunt" for women?!

  • I know what you mean.

  • scrap metal collecting business? So he basically steals copper from abandon buildings...

  • Why do the young ladies have to leave school just to clean a carvan where is the mother why she does not

clean ? why the kids stay at school

  • @springjessie the mother presumably left school at 11 to take care of chores around the house. married at 16, gives birth to her first daughter when she's 17 and cleans for another 11 years in wait for the first born to grow up. that's 17 years filled with little more than cleaning and I guess she's sick of it by then and as someone mentioned no one is expecting the children to grow up to become doctors or lawyers so they see no use for higher education.

  • @springjessie Most of the families have more than one caravan and maybe seven children, so they are taken out of school to help

  • @springjessie It breaks my heart, i can tell she doesn't want to get married

  • you know, i kind of feel sorry for those girls, there lives only revolve around getting married and then about cleaning. they have no chance of getting out of it. it's just sad for them

  • those men are uncharming douche bags. I would hate to be a gypsy

  • @kisa154 i wouldnt quit hate to be a gypsy because not all of them are like that some are sweet and charming and are exstreamly respectful

  • i cant even think about having responsibility for younger bro and sis' cleaning the huose and stuff, im 14...and i can totaly understand her....i just wanna go to school, have friends, hang out with them, wich teen doesnt wanna do that? whatever....and an 18yr old that cant read cause she left school when she was 11 thats not a good excuse cause i could read and write when i was 6-7,,,just sayin'

  • o argh!!! watching this alone is close to impossible. thank god for the comments box to rant in and remind yourself that this is NOT normal and there are other sane people in the world. also, arn't the men almost uniformly hideous (both personality and lookswise) whereas the girls are hot and mostly quite nice. WHY DO THEY PUT UP WITH THIS SHIT??? so like i said. argh. right, rant over.

  • @missehiggins amen sister. especially about how the guys are OOGLEH and the girls are smoking. i guess its because since the guy gets to choose the girls they dont care about how they look cos its their choice. then the girls always have to look their best in hopes of getting the attention of the guy they ACTUALLY like.. so sad.. but you know in the 'normal' society anyway, it's pretty much the same. it's just 10x worse for the gypsies and other people with 'traditional' cultures....

  • 3:35 They shrunk during the evening huhh?

  • where does the money for these weddings come from?!

  • everybody has an opinion about these people like they know all what they're about

  • i never wanted to be a princess when i was little......

  • @shiniquaaa haha, me neither. i wantd to be part of he-mans crew :-D

  • It that boy masturbating? Well, I suppose if you've been raised to think that grabbing girls is a good thing, then masturbating on international television is the least of his worries.

  • @livelovetennis143 "scrap metal" is almost certainly code for something illegal.

  • "his scrap metal business" aka "his cons, theft, fraud and selling of trinkets business".

  • Domestic violence is the result of all these gypsy marraiges. For the men they may feel superior but think about the women. The women know what they're getting themselves into by marrying a gypsy, they have no freedom and they are enslaved by their husbands yet they are still willing to continue on this tradition!

  • the guys can do whatever and the girls have to sit at home and clean, and ask permission to go or do anything. how is this an appealing lifestyle for women at all?!?

  • why cant they just live in a normal house, why a caravan? -__-

  • @CruzDaisy1 asking that question, it's clear you're not paying attention.

  • I don't get it, these are ill behaved, dirty mouthed, whore-ish, idiot boys who can't read or write that have CLEARLY been heavily influenced by the outside world, and they need to take the girls out of school at 12? (They also have tons of money for some reason... ) Archaic, barbaric culture. Should be completely wiped from memory. I have 0 tolerance for any culture that views Women as second class citizens. Their horses are treated better. Animals.

  • I wonder what the consequence would be if they disobeyed?!?!?!?

  • These people live in trailers...therefore no mortrgage, And probably can't get credit cards, so they have cash money for big occasions like weddings and first communion.

  • the Barbie cakes remind me of my 5th birthday!

  • @eve6261979 more that the girls are expected to marrry young and the girls and their mothers have to go along with it I guess :(

  • 1:52-2:02 YES!!!!! we know what you mean! and 2:13 that's not fair at all!

  • sorry but older lady's should`nt wear dresses like that.

  • 12:24 "...to hunt for women." wow.

  • All those boys sound like jack asses and idiots

  • So they're the guidos of the UK?

  • "blah drink, blah any age, blah girls sober, blah...DO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?"

    xD

  • dang it these women need to be liberated!

  • i dont like tyhe husband.,

  • I'm a girl and I ask out boys all the time ;)

I just feel so sad for the women who have to live in such an oppressed situation.

  • Noreen is so smart. She just made me realize why they go over board in their social events like weddings etc. It's because their wedding day is really all they've got to look forward to. Since they are not raised to be anything but housewives, they don't have proms, graduations, work satisfaction to plan for. Their wedding day is all these presumed special events in a country girl's life rolled into one for these girls & their families. I just got it.

  • @Igbogadi that totally makes sense, what a sad life those girls will have being housewives, not being able to have dreams of their own.

  • OMG WAS THAT GUY JERKING OFF AT 11:55- 11:57

  • @neely1024 sure looked like it to me ... : /

  • @neely1024 nah

  • Ah, Gypsy boys are so cute.

  • I can't believe me bride ain't ginger! I specifically asked for a ginger bride!

  • That guy at 2:13 says "you know what I mean?" at least once every sentence.

  • They kind of remind me of the jersey shore guys hahahah

  • 3:20 if i ever danced like that at a wedding my god.... these kids, it's all so different.

  • do ya know what i mean?

  • Bridget has beautiful eyes!

  • if they all have caravans and MONSTER dresses, what do they do with them after?

  • I've watched a few episodes now, and I have to agree with the majority of the comments. But I how is a dress maker an expert on the culture? She makes her income from them, of course she will think highly of them! And telling every girl they look pretty must be the standard line, whether it's true or not.

It does seem like an oppressive culture, I know that we're only seeing one side of the culture in this series, but it does make you wonder.

  • i feel like these people are brainwashed

  • @ElleRoxMyFabSox88 Do you mean like the alienated consumer culture under Western capitalism?

  • on her wedding night, did lizzie have regular sex or gypsy sex...that's where the bridegroom cheats her out of the orgasm.......how does 16 year old martin tom afford an expensive truck and insurance by collecting scrap metal ?

  • @jethro035181 maybe he doesn't have insurance or his parents paid for everything?

  • @Skyebright1 ...how would illiterate, menially employed parents afford a multiplicity of expensive vehicles for their dubious offspring....throughout all these videos there is an extreme disparity between the earning potential of these very marginal people and the value of their possessions, and their social activities...scrap collectors and road pavers don't drive $50K vehicles or throw $100K weddings....i see only petty criminals masquerading as a "culture"

  • @jethro035181 well you have to remember they aren't paying for college, which frees up a huge chunk of change.

  • @jenannande yes but only the men earn money, im guessing not much due to their crappy education

  • @jenannande they also pay almost no tax. Their "jobs" are all cash in hand. They all claim benefits as well.

  • I wonder what that dress cost. I could probably buy a good Pick up truck for the money

  • Do you know what I mean?

  • Why the fuck do I want a caravan that's got no fucking wheels? ...

  • I respect these people but I don't like the way women are treated.

  • this makes me ashamed to have a penis... not really

  • LMFAO i swear martin was jacking off at 11:56

  • Do you know what I mean? lolz :P

  • So they take the children out of school as to not tarnish them, most of these children can't read or write which is what EVERYONE should be able to do!! Yet they seem to be able to watch tv, watch movies, listen to current music, play video games, dress as "prostitutes" from a young age and dance provocatively.....how is this not tarnishing them as well? Its contradicting...

  • You all act as if they are offered the same type of education non-travellers get. If you look into it, the discrimination is so thick that most are shoved into special education classes/ classes for the mentally disabled just because they are travellers IF they are allowed into school at all. S would you want your child to have an education that basically involved learning what infants learn or stay home and educated them as much as you can that way?

  • @amiyumi331 but I don't think they are educated at home.

  • this is like a mash up of Jersey Shore and Sweet 16

  • @chelseaaellis along with Toddlers and Tiaras! And my big fat redneck wedding.

  • @chelseaaellis just tacky.

  • @chelseaaellis and toddlers & tiaras

  • I guess I just don't feel sorry for them. Both my parents worked and we also taking university courses and I was the one taking care of the house and my younger sister, which started well before I was 13. The only difference was I still had to do homework too. Now I stay at home, cook, clean, take care of the baby and have no help for most of day. But that is the life of a stay at home mom and if it means my child is home with me and not in someone elses care I'm fine with that.

  • @pinkpixiechic they don't get the chance to do homework nor any choice in becoming a housewife or not, so the girls I do feel sorry for.

  • Great, the boys can drink as much as they like, anytime, the earlier the better and

then they go home to their caravans and beat the crap out of their wives. That

is one amazing tradition, and one of the reasons that the police work overtime

because of these crimes and the women end up either dead or run away to

Refuge Homes. If that is " tradition" it needs to stop. And we think Muslim women

    have a bad time ???

  • Yall act like 18 is soo young to get married. It's not that crazy. I got married at 19 and my husband was 18. However, we are still educated! LOLHe's military and in military it's very typical to see a lot of young families. To me it's very normal to see a 24 year old with 2 or 3 kids and been married for years. I think it unnatural to see 30 year olds single and clubbing, and many with kids with women they don't care about?! Grow up!!

  • Why does this remind me so much of the American series "The Jersey Shore?" Seriously!

  • These guys are jerks!

  • Where are this girls parents?

  • Do you know what I mean?

  • ive bee rsied by gypsies in usa and never questioned then traditions cause im irish and they r romainion it is just that way

  • haha the one cousin in the blue/green shirt says "do you know what i mean?" alot. haha wowww

  • they deserve the big dresses and the big cakes, because they won't be having any for the rest of their lives
