morecowbell69.. to give you some insight. The 85 iroc with the 305 tpi came with a special cam stock which gave it a little more radical sound and 215 hp. That was the only year for that cam.The 305 tpi 86-89 was rated at 190 hp why chevy did that who knows? One good thing is in 87 chevy started offering the 350 in the iroc-z

I owned a stock 1985 IROC-Z (5.0 TPI) from

88-91. It sounded a lot like that when I

rev'd it up (not the lopey idle of course. just the rev).

I have no idea why it did either. It was a stock engine with stock exhaust. I had a lot of people who owned 80's F-bodies ask me what kind of exhaust I had. They wanted to get it for their car, and it would drive them nuts when I said it was stock.

Nothin special, The Trans is a T5 5speed From a 305 Camaro. The bell housing is the same for 305 or 350.

The one thing i put on the car that made the biggest difference was the full roller cam and roller rocker arms. i put the non-roller cam back in it and i have never felt a drop off in power like that before, closed to 30 or 40HP lost. i put the roller cam back in since then. Def long tube headers shorty suck.

Thanks! Its Torch Red its a GM color. U probably have Victory Red thats the bright red that came on 3rd gens. This has a hint of orange in it.
