  • I just acquired the vinyl soundtrack of the movie. This is one of the best tracks, fucking great!

    They are gods.

    WE ARE THE MODS!

  • esta é a melhor my generation que eu ja ouvi... e olha que eu ja ouvi dezenas...

  • quem será que veio ver o The e num gostou... mas viu... então é fan....kakaka

  • sheer beautiful brilliant madness

  • Fucking swaggering, arrogant and tossed off- swinging like a wrecking ball. A fistfight for your ears.

  • has anyone heard another that sounds like the who? enough said!

  • I agree with fuckyoubitch851

  • its this performance that should make people want to put The Who among the likes of led zeppelin and other bands more often because we often forget that they were a hard rock band and one of the most popular in the 70's in fact they pretty much fucking invented it in 1969 when they played woodstock and other places its sad they don't get the recognition they deserve because in my opinion they are the greatest rock band that ever lived and please Note: I'm not trying to start an argument

  • Right before this video kicks in, the band is playing an awesome, epic version of "Join Together." It is on the album but not in the movie. Has anyone ever seen that piece of film? Does it even exist?

  • this is what Roger refered to as "the horrible who"

  • To be fair, Pete's solo's were hit and miss. His power chord ability is second to none!

That said, if Pete is out there playing a guitar, I wanna hear it, dammitt!!!

The songs he wrote were more powerful than his ability to play a guitar.

    I'm done.

    Peace

  • is the year 1975?

  • Hey look it's my husband, Roger Daltrey.

  • @icinglover95

You are both a beautiful couple:)

  • @jjaaccoo Thank you! I knew we were!

  • I love to watch Pete hop around!

  • When the 70`s were over apparently so was the Les Paul for Pete. I`ve never seen him play one since....

  • I love the Jimmy Page 'rip off' at the end!

  • I SAW THE WHO IN THE 70'S...WEHN THEY WERE ON YOU JUST HELD ON FOR THE RIDE...THEY WERE ROCKS OUTER LIMITS!

  • How deliciously evil is the initial Entwistle bass on My Generation Blues ( aka Slow Generation Blues )?

    LONG LIVE ROCK!

    LONG LIVE THE WHO!

  • the solo at the end makes the hairs on my neck stand up everytime!!

  • @rammsteinbopper08 Yes! Defintiely! Anyone who thinks Pete can't play lead should take a listen...it still gives me goosebumps!!!!

  • @999manman pete is and was very inconsistent w/his lead playing..he sort tried to play by the seat of his pants...sometimes it worked other times it was horrendous...i never understood y he never worked on his lead playing..he's been friends w/jimmy page, eric clapton, joe walsh and dave gilmour. They could have taught him a thing or two...lol

  • @alsaxe1 Good point!

  • @999manman having said that..i don't mean to be critical of him. He is my main influence on guitar....his playing on live at leeds is great. It seems as if he really tried to play well there....i read that he wanted to do a lot of single note playing to show hendrix what he could do..

  • Comment removed

  • puling of the fucking duckwalk, pete townshend is the greatest guitarist of all time, forget jimi hendrix, forget eric clapton, this man is better than them by a longshot

  • genius. i picture a young jack white taking notes....!!

  • When John's bass joins in, LOOK OUT !

  • they jammed just as hard as any band at that time.......

  • HEY BO DIDDLEY

  • This is what rock and roll is all about. The Who are totally awesome!

  • oooooooo listen to john

  • this is fucking wonderfull love the who

  • The Who took it to the next cycle ... and the next cycle is coming ... when things get bad enough ... and people get pissed off enough that pop pablum won't do any more.

  • that fill at 2.08 Kieth Amazing!

  • duckwalk sweeet

  • 4.21 till the end is pure Townshend magic......

  • @garethnh well said man!!

  • it's not often that a cover rocks more than the original but this one does!

  • ESTE VIDEO ME GUSTA MUCHO UN CHINGO UN 1000 %

  • SIK

  • top song

  • Ever since I was little and watched The Kids Are Alright, this is my favorite Pete Townshend solo at the end!!!!

  • The beginning was so awesome my computer melted before the video ended =(

  • this is fucking EPIC

  • man, you know at 4:26, that #2 les paul is howling as it is having those notes wrung from it! FANTASTIC!

  • @EarlShoes1 the who > you.

  • @EarlShoes1 I born in Poland in 1989. I am still living here since i born. Noone programmed me to love and enjoy the who. If someone did, THX. Lyrics are not overrated. Music neither. Long live rock!

  • @EarlShoes1 So Beetoven is overrated? Because Pete's songwriting skills are on par with his.

  • Your nuts

  • YUCK ! ! THE HORRIBLE WHO !! Way to ruin a simple Bo Diddley song. I have heard garage bands goofing around sound 1000000 times better than this ! Pete Townshend is one of the most overrated pompous windbag rock guitarists of all time. I can't believe he had the nerve to say the Beatles backing tracks were "flippin lousy" . What a HACK !

  • @EarlShoes1 he might be an opinionated pompous asshole, but so are you

and he's got a hell of a pair of hands

  • @calebzia LOL, yeah he and I can be assholes and windbags. Free speech rocks more than the Who.

  • @EarlShoes1 The Beatles are crap you diluded twat. And as for pete, he is a genius.

  • @mousefloor1 The Beatles were a Bar Band who got a little help from some friends . diluded twat.? Your opinion. Pete a Genius ? Not in my opinion. This is a LOUSY cover. Pete is a HACK here, and makes the Beatles sound good.

  • @EarlShoes1 Ah Yes.. you sound incredibally thick. AND ARE. HACK.

  • @EarlShoes1 I can't believe you can get so angry at him for actually seeing the Beatles for what they truly are. That comment was made well before the Beatles' most striking albums, at around 1966, but if you do a little research you'll find out he actually complimented Eleanor Rigby a year later. Now, let's face it, if you are to speak about overrated musicians you should consider the Beatles as a prime example,

  • @YukioGL youre an idiot

  • @EarlShoes1 seriously, I do believe their most well-known songs from around that period are actually flippin' lousy, and if you stay away from their LEGEND status you'll find out they actually have recorded music that ain't just good enough to consider them the greatest rock band in the world's history as most people will call them with no other proof than the success of those bloody red and blue albums

  • @EarlShoes1 everyone's heard more than a thousand times without further examination on what their real contribution to rock music is... I mean, after all those are their hits, not the best or the most representative of their work. Nothing personal against the Beatles by the way. And yes, I love the Who, which won't stop me from saying they actually screwed up a few times by releasing music that didn't showcased their best.

  • The cymbals sound like the ones in "Kashmir" by Zeppelin

  • 00:15 - 00:23 I FUCKING LOVE THAT!!!!!

  • @scartissue94 Agreed man!!! That little dance is so rock and roll!!!!

  • rock and fucking roll!!!!!!

  • there used to be a video of join together, that was before this roadrunner on youtube, and My Generation Blues leads into an EPIC wont get fooled again, also used to be on youtube...

  • Pete, though not a proficient lead guitarist, is one of the best rhythm guitar players in history. Nobody has ever been able o windmill like Pete and actually hit the guitar strings. Try it sometime. Your inclination will be to not hit the strings for fear of slicing off your fingers....

  • @whyyeseyec pete actually plays a lot of lead guitar here, listen to the solos, sounds just like jimmy page...

  • I think he sounds like Pete Townshend, not Jimmy Page....

  • my point was he plays a lot of lead guitar here to contradict what you mentioned: "Pete is not a proficient lead guitarist"

  • pete can do awesome duckwalk!

  • 75000 dope-smoking teens were at this concert! or at least so i've heard!

  • The part where Roger sings, "WHY DON'T YA ALL" just gets me so worked up every time, it's the epitome of rock and roll.

  • cool i love the song road runner. thanks. 5. God bless.

  • Isn't this the show where they played the loudest concert ever to that point.

  • might be

  • That overdriven note at 4:49 could have knocked a few fillings out.

  • At 4:24 Townshend pulls the plug on restraint. Intense stuff.

  • Johns Bass .37 seconds ..I have chills

  • I'm NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT trying to cause a big sensaSHUNNN!!

  • I wish they would've put the whole medley with join together in the movie

  • Love the way Keith and Pete are in the zone at 4:14. This gig (Pontiac Silverdome, '75) was one of their loudest and most energetic.

  • thanks for posting..a who fan for 26 years....I remember going to the movie in 1978 when it was released..great memories

  • The power of this gig sounds deafening, amazing performance, wish I`d have been there to watch The Who in there full supersonic glory

  • i love how pete takes the third away! sounds mean! on the les paul that is

  • RoadRunner is a Zobies song? Are you having a laugh? Its Bo Diddley you moron

  • Roadrunner is a Zombies song realeased in UK first album December 1964. It's a great driving tune. It is so hardcore for the time.

  • The Zombies, like many others, covered it. The song was written and the original versions were recorded by Elias McDaniel - better known as Bo Diddley.

  • Zombies??? You kiddin me...

  • pretty sure that Bo diddley wrote it

  • Roger called this the "awful who" the beginning of the end......drugs and acohol

  • horrible who that is

  • and woof

  • Howl

  • For the hardest rocking band of all time, I have to go with these guys. This is the Who at their best.

  • Love the walk (tribute to Chuck Berry) by Pete in the beginning.

  • The Who at the almighty Pontiac Silverdome!!!Pure gold...R.I.P Silverdome

  • fantastic!!!

  • 1 guitar. 1 bass. 1 percussion. 1 vocal. the best example anywhere of all thats needed to jam...
