I can remember when Kathy griffin brought Renate, a kind of psychic trainer of dogs, and the stupid methods Renate would use. For example, Kathy was made to dress us as a giant rat, shoot two guns to the air and scream "eeeh, eeeh" like a rat to scare them away onto not running away from her -and she did it-. Obviously, this method didn't work at all.

Kathy was also made to get on the floor and behave like a dying cocroach. I don't see that the method benefited Pom-Pom and Chance at all.

The problem with him is that he's brought back silly ideas about dominance and being an "alpha dog", which was based on misconceptions about wolves. Dogs are not wolves, and wolves don't try to physical dominate other dogs in the way Cesar describes. Not he's totally worthless, but the dominance stuff is crap.

@ArmorKingRulez Experts now say that what they believed to be true is not so...humans has spent 100s of years taming dogs and breeding different things into them...simply put dogs are meant to be with humans...why would you bring out the wolf side of a dog...you should focus on the side of a dog that relates to humans...Cesar Millan is a good trainer but he teaches dominance...while real dog training is about leadership.

@TheTooawesome1 Dominance is leadership, to many people think dominance is a "bad thing". We live by laws, that have "rules, boundaries and limitations".  Why should it be any different for a dog? Leading an animal means that you are known as the boss of the animal. Jillian was training her dog to stay while she went away for long distances and recall from long distances, that IS dog training and is teaching the animal to FOLLOW the leader (Jillian). It works so why care??

It matters cause in the video she doesnt know how to communicate with her dog...she doesnt have a complete knowledge of how to read seven...so how will she know when seven does something wrong how to communicate with him. Dominance forces A leader communicates and guides. We live in a democracy not a dictatorship...Why cant dogs

@Skippytrucking I disagree. If I were on a large horse and knew my dog had a history of freaking out around horses, I think I would be afraid to walk my dog from atop the horse. What if something went wrong? ex. the dog started running around the horse and the leash got wrapped around the horses legs and the horse fell; ex. the horse starts freaking out and galloping away while the leash was caught around one of the horses's leg and the dog is dragged behind. Reasonable concerns, not stupidity.

@5w33ti3 LOL...If you KNOW how to ride a horse, its easily done with one hand. Keep the leash short. If the dog panicked and freaked out a good horse would simply stand there. Even if you had a stupid horse, you CAN let go of the leash, dismount, catch your dog and start over. Of course, if she had any clue she would have intro'd her dogs to horses on a leash to begin with while walking the barn and correcting bad behavior before it got out of control. Duh.

@Skippytrucking I KNOW how to ride a bicycle with no hands and my dog isn't afraid of bicycles, but I still won't walk her on a leash while riding my bike - too many fears of what could happen. My point is that all people don't have the same level of confidence in doing things. Rather than call someone "so stupid," open your mind to the possibility that she never considered doing it because she wasn't comfortable trying it on her own.

My trainer could not afford lessons as a teen, though she had had some childhood experience. she searched for some rich yuppies who buy horses but don't have people to exercise them. She offered to exercise their horses for free, then eventually she was able to buy a horse off with her job and give lessons. she also trains horses for money. now she has over a dozen horses of her own!she's only 21. I hope something works out for you, it's such a great activity.
