yes...I agree with the SUB part. That is one reason we only do Metal Roofing since the lap is a built in necessity. Also, in the US the home owner gets a tax credit for metal roofing. BTW, just HOLDING the safety rope doesnt qualify as SAFE. Good Video.

I have seen the same thing many times in Phoenix. They high nail and then when it is 115 degrees the shingles get soft. Then a dust devil comes along and lifts half the roof off.
I had a re roof customer with the same exact problem only we caught it in time it didn't get as bad as the roof in this video. But same situation...complete lack of craftsmanship.
to shed light on the situation..... tearing it off shouldn't take you too long. Yes very poorly nailed.... :( the application instructions are very basic and are even labeled on the bundles themselves... but don't blame "new roofing companys" this is simply just an idiot. every business starts somewhere and i have seen work under 6 years exp surpass old timers that have been in the game fore 35+years.

I have been able to turn helpers into leads within two years. Obviously they aren't running big jobs at that point but I can turn them loose on all my piddly repair work.

I had a customer call me 1 time with this problem. It was that all the nails were nailed above the nail line and used to much pressure with the gun. I tore the whole roof of in 30 min
@roofrepairspecial yes the nail were set to high on the shingle but as said in the video it was air nailed with to much pressure. all of the wrongs did not make it right ... that is why i hand nail roofs !
@lgttb1 man ive used a roofing gun for 5 years and ive never had a shingles drop because the nails shot threw ..but i have seen it happen mostly because the nailer was inexperienced or dint care ....all you roofers who are scared of change man try 1 for a lil while u will love it i aint hit my finger 1 times since i started using 1
@DIV128 newer nail guns and roof nails are much better then they were years ago . i agree that many do not know or care how to take care of a gun and set the compressor for the correct air pressure in order to nail a roof correctly. thank God i no longer roof homes.
@manozobe the shingles were air nailed and the gun set the nails too deep which made the nails rip through the tiles. the heavy winds blew it all out of place.
