Man,you don't know how heavy this camera is. all the old rengenfinder cams are so heavy. mine is the minolta xg-m,metal body.........................urgh
i have one of FM2 with me its my dad before coz he is a photo grapher its about 15 years old but still can use it i love nikon FM2 alot. thanks you :)
Ive owned mine from new purchased in Cardiff in 1984.
Recently i took it into a respected dealers and they were amazed at the condition of its camera case almost like new.
They were renouned for splitting but mine now over 25yrs old is almost mint.
Give one of these beautifull cameras to a youngster used to only digital and they would be lost because its regarded as one of the finest totally manual cameras ever made.
@NijinoHaru Where do I start? The FM2 is as basic as they come - built tough, but manual focus, manual exposure and manual film transport. It works perfectly well without a battery, although you'll need a couple of button cells for the most rudimentary + or - exposure metering (having said that, the meter is very accurate). Flash synic is a very respectable 1/250 and the shutter speed range is 1-1/4000+B. The high tech and fully automated F100 is the polar opposite of the FM2.
@eggmangoogoogoojoob Thank you. I might get to try it some day, I've been using the F100 for a while and I love it, though I like the design of FM2 and how everything is manual.
@thecabbahood Only if you know what you are doing or want to learn it. With this camera the photographer takes the photo, the camera does almost nothing (except for suggestions, which aren't that reliable anyway). Awesome camera, wish I had one again.
okay this may not pertain to this topic but.. I've been thinking of getting into film photography and buying a nikon fm 10. I have no clue what film photography is or its importance besides it using a film. how do you upload (if there is a way) film photographs on your computer. say if i wanted to upload so i can put it on on my myspace/facebook.? thanks.
I used to have 2 of those cameras and they were the most simple reliable cameras you could have. If you knew the sunny 16 rule you could keep shooting even if the battery died.
i'm thinkin gof getting an old slr camera that is mechanical simply because it will outlast an electronic 35mm SLR. WIll this camera be good with zoom lenses? Will lenses from this camera be able to be used on a digital slr also

Let me guess, the 7 people who didn't like this would rather play with their digital crap cameras and use iPhoto than use a real camera.
