oh ok, btw is it possible to become a volunteer ambulance driver (not paramedic) in canada? if so, are there any qualifications required?

well, idk about canada, but i know that in the usa, you can be just an ambulance driver, you would still have basic ems training though.

Sure but it's going to take you 6 months and a mandatory state certification test to even be allowed to try. And if you want to drive an ambulance you need EVOC training so factor in another couple days. For 1 month? Not worth it dude! Trust me, been a volunteer EMT and Paid EMT for 5 years now. :D

I cant say for all of Canada since the ambulance and paramedic requirements differ by province but in Ontario that would be a no. Here in Ontario there are no ambulance drivers they are all Paramedics and take turns driving.

uh no, obviously not, if the ambulance had to to get to the scene, run through an assesment, load the patient, and head to the hospital all before the fire department even got to their trucks, obviously they werent on the same call.

that is a freaking sweet dual tone siren on that ambulance..i am guessing its a whelen dual tone from the sound of it.....really nice..and clears traffic like a charm...our ambulance service across the river uses them and they work great
