This video is a lie. Working condition laws exist on both the state and federal level. Removing the unconstitutional federal law wouldn't change the state laws.
FUCK THAT! Work safety is the responsibility of the individual, not the government! Maybe in the past few years, the American people have forgotten that paying their bills, deciding what to consume, and taking care of their children is THEIR OWN, INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY! I am voting for Ron Paul. More Freedom. Less Government. Libertarian: like the forefathers intended.
All of your videos expose you as a collectivist. Not a free-market advocate. Therefore I consider you my enemy or foolish dupe of the left. Which is it?
Besides the fact that I disagree with your biased, incomplete and twisted political loyalties, you do have good skills at video production. Too bad you cannot see the errors of your ways and come over the side of freedom and liberty for the individual. Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist... the law of the land... he believes in following it! His point is... get the FEDERAL govmt out of private lives and business as it should be, according to the Constitution. Its a problem to be handled at the State level... not Federal. STUDY the Constitution! Federal intervention, in matters they have no legal jurisdiction to enter into, is the exact reason this country is now going down.
Ron Paul is honest, and intelligent. He represents the citizens. I didnt watch this video, I know u r an ignorant sheep hater, so I won't waste much time. Learn up lil sheep nitpicker, learn up.
We need to consider the possibility that this could be absolute straw man, that Ron Paul simply thinks the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should have no say in workplace safety. And then it would be up to people to (imagine this!) elect state representatives who share their concern for this issue. Ron Paul does have it right on the two issues that the federal government actually is granted authority for and affect all americans - fiscal sanity at the federal level and noninterventionist foreign policy.
A Congressman who asked and took almost half a billion dollars in spending in just one year for his congressional district alone should not be preaching fiscal sanity to others.
It's like Mark Standford preaching others about "family values"
He addressed this in an interview on Meet The Press. This is because his constituents at least want to see some return on the exorbitant federal taxes that they, and all of us, are forced to pay.
The analogy is extreme; Ron Paul's message is to cut taxes and spending. Makes no sense to tax those who elected you and spend nothing at all.
The Congressman who wants govt to get out everything and do nothing is the same guy who requested 8 million $ in govt money in FY 2007 for wild shrimp marketing.
Where in the US Constitution does it say govt should get involved in marketing shrimp ?
haha don't you have anything better to do than make crappy anti-ron paul videos? OSHA is just more ineffective regulatory government bureaucracy. 40 years of existence and only 12 criminal convictions. wow. what a detterent! did you know that someone has to die from a willfull violation in order to bring about charges?! OSHA is useless! haha you have more brain damage than the guy who got hit in this video if you think OSHA is actually effective. it's just more tax dollars wasted for bigger gov.
Stupid Ron Paul trying to make workers unsafe at their job site while giving employers an excuse to save few buck at the expense of heath and safety of workers at work place.
Here is another suggestion. If a company disregards your safety. Don't work for them! If nobody works for them, they will go out of business. If a company wants to be competitive and profitable then it would be in their best interest to provide a safe working environment.
Here is my suggestion if a company disregards my safety not only I will leave that company I'll also make sure that it gets a stiff fine and big legal bills and "great" publicity.
Seriously UnsavoryMen what is in this for you? You are on a one man attack against Ron Paul, when you have no idea what you are talking about? Also you misspelled jeopardize and nonsense, just fyi.
But the others commenting are right, the Federal Governement is too big as it is, this type of law should be state, I am more worried about them trying to make these laws international through some sort of treaty.
I see absolutely no reason to create 50 different standards for 50 different states. It would be a nightmare situation for companies to navigate through 50 different standards to comply with. It means more paperwork, more confusion and more absurdity just like in the case if auto fuel standards and health insurance industry.
Absurdity is exactly what Ron Paul hopes to bring about.
unsavorymen i can see you are ignorant to the consitution. Let me explain well try to explain this very simple concept to a moron like yourself. The federal govt has no authority to dictate laws apon the states. The only powers the fed consitutionaly has is protect the currency protect the home land and act as the states agent when requested. The usa is a union accepted and the states answere to noone but themselves. DEA FBI NSA CIA act only because states allow them to.
The consitution starts with we the people for a reason. Change occurs when the people want changes. It is not the federal govt who makes such changes and all states choose to comply or choose not to. Safety for ones self and liberty for ones self is something you must defend not the govt regulate for you. Ron paul is one of few americans left in congress and you really need to do research on the consitution and research on ron paul. Ron paul is a true america hero.
You wrote, "Change occurs when the people want changes."
This is exactly the reason why not even 5% of Republican voters (which is very shrunken voting base) could agree to make such absurd changes that Ron Paul wanted (in the last presidential primaries.)
You wrote, "It is not the federal govt who makes such changes and all states choose to comply or choose not to"
Well the Congress made those laws and if you consider the Congress NOT a branch of federal govt. well then I got nothing to say
Dr. Paul simply says that (like us) politicians must also obey the rule of law.
Politicians must HONOR their OATH of office instead of just IGNORING the Constitution... period.
This issue is a States right & responsibility because of the 9th & 10th Constitutional Amendments place limits on federal power which flows FROM the people.
Competition among the states is Good, federal (or any) monopoly is bad.
The Constitution has not barred the federal govt. from enforcing Occupational Health and Safety Act. Give me a provision in the Constitution that bars the federal govt from making Occupational Health and Safety Act and enforcing it.
Read the 9th and 10th Amendments, then show me a provision in the constitution that ALLOWS the federal gov't to make Occupational Health and Safety Act and enforcing it.
If EVERYTHING is commerce, then there is NO LIMIT to what Congress can do including removing the bill of rights with some kind of "unPatriotic Act".
Oh, they did that already?
Sounds like it's almost time to use the 2nd Amendment!
You wrote, "If EVERYTHING is commerce, then there is NO LIMIT to what Congress can do including removing the bill of rights with some kind of "unPatriotic Act".
"
I guess workers or labors are not a vital component of commerce and industry in your definition. If the good and services you use come to you was produced delivered to you without any human labor may be you are right it is not part of commerce.
Labor, and workforce supply (breeding) ARE a part of commerce to the Fascist in the Totalitarian state YOU promote and so is the movement of that labor force and the property they occupy.
Fascists like YOU abuse the commerce clause to ignore the Constitution limitations on the power of the Federal Govt.
All men, even the elected ones MUST follow the rule of law or there is anarchy.
If you dont like the Constitution then work to change it, but dont just hypocritically ignore it.
Before writing something stupid at least read what Occupational Health and Safety Act covers....things like for example why it is important to train workers about doing job safely before allowing them to operate some equipment or handle hazardous materials at a factory. Or why & how important it is to enforce safety codes at job sites so workers dont physically hurt themselves or their co-workers.
Before writing something stupid at least read what Occupation Health and Safety means ..things like why and how to train fundamental safety measures to take before or while operating a equipment at a factory. Or things like how to handle different types of chemicals or hazardous materials at work and how and what to do in case of an accident. Or why it is important to immediately clean an oil spill on a floor in a kitchen at a restaurant. ..why it is important to enforce such safety measures etc
Well..if you cannot comprehend the most fundamental common sense safety measures at your job site then I can only conclude that either you absolutely wreckless about your own physical health and safety at work or you are wreckless about physical health and safety safety of your co-workers.
By the way I say it because I was involved in a work related accident some years back because I did not follow job safety procedures in addition to my employer did not enforce job safety measures.
You say that you were involved in a work related accident some years back because you did not follow job safety procedures in addition to your employer did not enforce job safety measures.
Federal public policy did no help you much. You should sue yourself for damages and you employers should have fired you for endangering youself.
So, do you always blame others for you mistakes or is it your habit to count on others for your own personal safety?
Actually both my employer and I paid for the mishap. I paid with physical injury and my employer paid with hefty fines.
The job of federal government is to ensure that such things do not happen and apply and enforce the law evenly through out the nation so that workers from one or two state(s) dont get less protection than workers from other states.
Workers' Compensation Boards pays workers in the event of an injury for the time lost at work and in the event of severe injury workers get additional compensation based on severity of injury. Every state has it own Workers' Compensation Board . In Canada they have Workers' Compensation Board in every province.
Companies pay insurance premiums to Work Comp Boards that is how Work Comp Board makes most of its payments to injured workers. In return Work Comp Boards protect companies from getting sued.
In addition to paying usual insurance premiums, companies pay additional fines to Work Comp Boards in case of accidents.
If you want to sue your employer you first have to reject Work Comp Board payments and only then you can peruse your case in civil court.
I feel sorry that you injured yourself, but you sound like a typical liberal who is unwilling or unable to take responsibility for your own damn actions.
Liberals (like you) seem to feel better by controlling others instead of accepting the responsibility to take care of youself.
Responsibilities lie on all three parties, workers, employers and the government.
It is the responsibility of employers to train workers on job safety and to enforce them in their premises. It is the responsibility of workers to follow through once instructed and it the responsibility of government to ensure these laws are being enforced.
Congress should have worked within the legal framework of the Constitution (to which they swore an OATH) to amend the Constitution instead of simply ignoring it through the Commerce Clause.
Congress has used this Commerce Clause to become a ruling class which is VERY dangerous to our individual liberty.
