  • Comment removed

  • band sound very good

  • it is sooooo cool!

  • wo bu xihuan zhongguo zhnegfu, tamen shi xiaotou ba. Hen xingfu wo bu shi zhongguoren, mei biyao jieshou tamen suo gei gongmin de yali ;-)

  • I just listened to Cui Jian live at Stanford! He was AMAZING! He even did 4 extra songs because the crowd wouldn't leave lol.

Shame on that ProudofPRC idiot down there. One of Cui Jian's song's today was "tolerate." You should learn what that means.

  • you should have stayed for the 3rd encore. he did another song after 1/2 the audience left.

  • I stayed for it - note 4 extra songs I said.

Hey so youu just came back from Dink too? :P

  • Anyone have old versions of this song? I remember this from those days...Hopeful music.

  • Cui jian love freedom. We love linux, that's the same.

  • Just because they're Korean doesn't mean they're stupid. You need to grow up and stop pretending to be the center of the universe.

  • wanna know what makes a man stupid? being a fucking racist, just like you.

  • Chill, dude. It's a disgrace we didn't come up with this shit, but it's also Chinese ppl's proud tradition that we don't let our pride bias our judgment.

  • koreans are chinese too,

    they oringined from chinese,

and they ll come back to chinese.

  • it has its own history and it also has influenced many people, although this song is much older than me although I wasn't born in Mainland, but it's really touching, and I love its lyrics,it's a symbol of passion.

  • I love the first part of this song! Because it has a sort of Chinese taste. I don't like the second part tough. It isn't consistent with the first part. How u people think?

  • this song... I was 14 he was 16...he told me he has nothing, but I should run away with him...and he sang this song to me in tears.....so long ago...I love this song...I love Beijing

  • ^ ^

It's a good reason to love Beijing, then, especially if that's you. And I think one of many reasons to be in tears.

  • Having seen Cui Jian live in Xiamen in 1991 when I was stugying there at Xiada, seeing him in the years between, surprised to find him on youtube.

Just reminds me of "old" times, still run him every year or so in Shanghai.

  • pretty good n clasic singer, up!

  • i love this song too.:)

  • i love this song!! thanks!!

  • thanks for posting some cui jian.. not enough of him gets out.

  • sounds a bit like an Injun Rain dance with some Dead Jam plopped on so you won't be totally bored shitless.

  • u r totally a moron to chinese folk songs

  • What? Injun? Did you just crawl out of Tom Sawyer or some bad western? This song was really big before and around the time of the Tianenman Square massacre. This is a variation on the original which I like better, but I like this version also.

Oh yeah, and don't forget that China for various significant reasons is probably a bit behind as far as rock & roll evolution. Listen to our rock from its early stages - rather primitive.

  • weiner66, pls go to the hell, be quick!
