  • Beyonce brought me here, lol.

  • Driver San Francisco brought me here

  • Yes driver San Francisco I FINDE ZIS MUSIK SORRY I AM RUSIAN

  • Most funk is better than Beyonce, I know.

  • ayy Beyoncé :S

  • Anyways the sample of this song is great. Beyonce certainly makes whoever listens crazy in love really crazy. Don't u think so?

  • i'm here Because of DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO very very good game (: jogo arrasa kkkkkkkkkkkk

  • This sounds good only from 0:10 to 0:13

  • @Saint5109 I feel sorry for you

  • @funklord82 Don't... everyone's entitled to his own opinion

  • crazy in love?

  • Bey lol.

didn't know till a while ago this was smapled

  • i think people don't like feeling deceived that's why they hate sampling, they first like it and think wow gd song then it turns out the best part is by someone else. i remember first time i heard the Beyonce version it took me ages to figure out where i had heard it before it was actually kinda fun, about all the joy i ever got outa that shit song but its so niche it is a little bit of a theft as they never give credit, and it makes the song.

  • I actually like this song......the beat is catchy which is probably why Beyonce used this sample. This beat MADE the song "Crazy in Love" stand out.

  • Ok ok, I know Bey gave credit to them for her sample. But, I promise you, the next time I play that horn part on ANY instrument and someone starts singing Crazy in Love, I'm gonna go postal.

  • 0:03

  • Wow, why are you people so stupid?

She didn't still anything, it's called "sampling", and she only sampled 3 seconds from the song.

  • @Kaiuchka They did a great job creating a song around the sample- but the sampled hook is the best part of the song and it's most identifiable element.

  • @Kaiuchka Technically, Jay-Z sampled it. xD

  • @FunkyWhitePimp How so?

  • @Kaiuchka ...by sampling it on a Beyonce track....O_o

  • @FunkyWhitePimp Jay Z was only featured on the song, he had nothing to do with making it.

  • @Kaiuchka I say that because Jay-Z produces a lot of B's tracks. My bad if he didn't do this one.x

  • Driver San Francisco anyone?

  • @cartman1066

Hell yes, that game has the best soundtrack. This and California Soul are burned into my brain.

  • wow. beyonce didnt steal this song at all. if she did. she only used 5 sec of the song. not only that. she doesnt come up with the beat or music. she just sings the song.

  • Why do peolpe make such a big deal out of sampling? To me it's no different than doing a cover song. How many versions are there of I heard it through the grapevine? Back in the 80's people didn't pay for sampling because it was a new instrument. Now they treat sampling the same as doing a cover song... royalties and all.

  • @livetechondemand The difference is that when you do a cover song you're retaining the same song title and it's better communicated that it's a cover.

With a sample, usually people have no idea (or at least the majority of people) and there is no obvious credit given to the sampled song/artist like with a cover.

  • @evosero sample credits are listed on the jacket of the CD cover along with the writers, producers and studios they recorded in. Most of these forgotten groups would love to receive a royalty check from being sampled. The royalties they receive by today's standards would be more than what they made off the original recordings. :-(

  • @livetechondemand sad but true. Just this one sample probably helped them get back on their feet ---if they're not dead or whatever. I hate what happened to music groups and artists in the past if they weren't careful...and smart.

  • witch boyonce song was it used in ?

  • @davethebest4ever1992 Crazy in Love

  • @Slyteradon and i bid a thank you :)

  • @davethebest4ever1992 Crazy in Love.

  • the producer is the one who samples music and presents it to the paying artist, just so you all know.

  • this was also sampled in kool g raps 'number 1 with a bullet

  • We Lost A Real Talent With Amy Winehouse - Yes, She Sounds Like Many of the Greats Like Billie, Ella and Sarah and even Ronnie Spector - But the Girl Had A REAL VOICE and She Was NOT SELLING HER BODY - SHE WAS SELLING HER VOICE HER TALENT - THAT'S A REAL ARTIST - AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ALICIA KEYS, JENNIFER HUDSON, AND JAZ SULLIVAN - NO ONE IN THE TWENTY-SOMETHING CATEGORY COMES CLOSE.

  • Rip Off - I just an article in which Tina Turner goes into Great Detail about How Much of Her Style and Diana Ross's Style Was Stoten By the B-Girl.

  • Why does everyone hate sampling. The writers of the original have to agree to the sample, so it's not like Beyoncé and Rich Harrison stole from or ripped anyone off.

  • @andrewkiwi100 - Rip Off - I just an article in which Tina Turner goes into Great Detail about How Much of Her Style and Diana Ross's Style Was Stoten By the B-Girl.

  • @andrewkiwi100 ...which means that any "artist" with a big enough financial firepower can build themselves a career using music that was lovingly composed by someone else. Its like if a rich but mediocre painter went to a starving Leonardo da Vinci and said: "How much do you want for the Mona Lisa? 10000000$ Enough? Cool, I'll stick it on my canvas. Now its my picture".

  • Fuck Beyonce.

  • @FormerlyMrBean667 You wish..

  • The most epic part is 0:09-0:13.

  • guys beyonce creditied them for sampling that part so shut up

  • @vaibu21 Nevertheless, credited or not, the intro of Chi-Lites is a superb hook to drain hearers' attention. To mention "Sample taken from Chi-Lites" is nothing. Not only the brass intro, but also the whole percussions with ride cymbal are used throughout all Beyoncé tune. OK, Beyoncé's curves are splendid, OK, the producer's flair to dig out good breakbeat loops and brass intro is remarkable, but the whole thing is constructed on Chi-Lites' tune. Listen to the Baseballs version. It's fun!

  • @BixenteFabregas im not against this song or anything but shouldn't we be happy that beyonce is taking us back to the oldies? when other singers are making meaningless music...

  • Amazing brass section and percussions, as usual in this golden age. Not Earth Wind and Fire but still splendid. To the Beyoncé polemic, I'll ad this: "Is recycling good ideas a good idea?". The music industry nowadays is based on three principles: Smash, Grab and Run. To make us believe in originality behind popular hits is the lie of this era. "Crime of the Century" as Supertramp would say. You can decide if a so-called artist is worth this title. With your wallet.

  • fuck you, Beyonce.

  • I LIKE THIS

  • fuckin crazy !!

  • I was watching Less Than Zero (one of the greatest movies ever back in the day) and about fell out of my chair when I heard the opening of the song. I think it's cool when artist pull from the greats and the old school gets recognized for their genius.

  • Someone is always claiming Bey stole a song from an artist. SHE IS NOT A PRODUCER, PEOPLE. Besides, READ SONG CREDITS. They always list samples, giving credit where it is due.

  • omfg, who are these guys?? beyonce made a song sounding exactly like this!

  • @JessikahAznBabyy This song was made 32 years before Beyonce's

  • @lamareikan666 he's trolling

  • This sounds like "I love your lovin"

  • Oh wow the haters are so sad and misinformed. Eugene Record, who wrote the song, was credited from jump. He's dead now but he and his family were probably happier than a mouse in a cheese factory that Beyonce and the machine behind her chose this song to sample. It earned them a lot of money; the original recording which I purchased when it came out probably earned a few hundred for Eugene--if that!

  • they look very similar...! it seems like crazy in love and this song has only one composer..!

  • 'Don't blame Beyonce' for what 'takin the dough'? Off with the heads of all capitalists. They're not artists, they're theives

  • @BRABromborough Fuck Yeah....Artists today got no talent

  • @TheDc316 Beyonce's a singer and performer. If she doesn't write songs, then she doesn't have a talent for that, but she does have a talent for singing. If you are saying that it is imperative for a singer to write their material themselves or they have no talent, then guess what? Diana Ross doesn't have talent. Whitney Houston doesn't have talent. Tina Turner doesn't have talent. The Temptations don't have talent. Aretha Franklin didn't even write the majority of her songs.

  • @camking88

you are born with the ability to sing, it's hardly a talent. songwriting is much more of a talent.

  • @mufc4527 So I guess you are saying Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and most artists from the 40s-70s don't have talent. You know, a singer writing their own songs is a somewhat recent thing. Artists in the Chi-Lites day hardly ever wrote their own music. So if singing is not much of a talent, then what is that saying about them.

  • @BRABromborough I think we're all thieves somehow, some pay tribute to artists and songs from the past, for the others... it's really a shame

  • to be honest i don't like this song, beyonce's version is way better

  • LMAO all the haters. The Chi-Lites are credited on the Dangerously in Love album, trust me they got the money too.

  • @kevinrapo they didn't get any money at all dude. credit or no money, they got shit

  • Damn this is one mad song!

  • Comment removed

  • Beyonce: Getting rich off the back of the Black ! *__*

  • @PhreakLOL - No such thing as 'MADE IT BETTER' :( What she made was music FOR YOUR TIME......I personally didn't care for it, being an 'OLD SCHOOLA'.....Ya Digggg!! :) PEACE

  • @PhreakLOL

It's only a portion of a classic.Without the old you don't have the new.Respect those who came before you and made life a lil easier ; )

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING - DITTO!! Old School in the Hooooouse bagging you up 110%.....LOL!! that's the problem! NO RESPECT! Gotta know where you came from to know where you're going.

  • @mssquirrely

That's rite.Is that a pic of you on your page? The Chocolate girl with the busch.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING - Not me persay but a chosen representation of the my

    ancestral essence. PEACE

  • @timmytibble, the producer has no responsibility to get the sample cleared. that's the responsibility of the artist and/or the record label.

  • AFTERTHOUGHT - - Why all the hostility, people? I'm here 'cause I like the music even from like. 40 years ago, & it is still relevant! MUSIC IS JUST WAAAAAAAYYYY COOL1 DAVEDJ

  • THE BRUNSWICK LABEL RULED WITH SUCH ARTISTS AS BARBARA ACKLIN, JACKIE WILSON, MARYANN FARRA/SATIN SOUL, VAUGHAN MASON/CREW,THE CHI-LITES and many other classic r&b/disco/dance artists. AND THE WORDS WERE FUN TO LISTEN TO & DANCE TO. Thank you for posting this classic!

DAVEDJ ...and the HORNS MADE Bouncey's rip-off & she knows it...AND she/her producers ripped off Stevie Wonder "You Haven't Done Nothin'" on the remix 12" as well...

  • i swear youtube videos have the dumbest arguements.

  • Without the Chi-lites, "Crazy in Love" isn't good. Period. Whenever the best part of a song is a sample from a previously recorded song, I don't know...

  • why is everyone complainin about this sample...i dont see no comments on any of kanyes songs.

  • Do you have to give royalties when you sample a song?

  • @karerer oh yes, without sample clearance the original writer can ban you from releasing the record. however in Beyonce's case they'd not be worried about being sued if the above statement is true as a big record label could afford to pay any resulting fine and court cases

  • SHE COPIED THE LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY SONG BY DONNA!!!!!

  • Thanks DJ Funktual for bringing me to a great track, always wondered what the sample for Crazy in Love was.

  • Why are people moaning about a sample? Samples have been used and reused so many times...please hell even had artists singing the exact same song at the same time. Case in point RESPECT by Otis REdding later done shortly after by Aretha Franklin. Case in point Heard it Through the Grapevine done around the same time by Marvin Gaye and Gladys Knights and the Pips....and so on and so on. At Last being done three other times before Etta James song her classic rendition.

  • And on top of that from the very beginning Rap was founded on rappers laying rhymes on sample/musical hooks. People will find any reason to be negative about Beyonce even when it holds no merit. It is a sample, it isn't the first nor is it the last.

  • A lot of the people moaning about Beyonce 'stealing' from other artists would never admit the fact that if it wasn't for her sampling of this record none of them would have even heard of the Chi-lites! The best thing about this record are the horns that Beyonce sampled, if the original was better than Crazy In Love it too would have made No 1 worldwide.

  • @adam02benoit- It did make #1 at the time you IDIOT!!!

  • @seven1852 No it didn't, it charted at numer 72 in the mainstream chart and at number 8 in the US r&b, get your facts right before calling people rude names like idiot, you cock snuffling ass bothering guttersnipe.

  • @adam02beno- Yeah, good comeback.LOL! How old are you?

  • Plus, Beyoncé's Crazy In Love is one of the best songs of all time!

  • same old beyonce, ripping of everyone else and being unoriginal..

  • @BriitneyFan Last time I checked Beyonce is not a producer, she is a song writer and singer. She did not produce the record, she wrote it, someone gave her a beat, and sang over it. Stop making it such a huge deal.

  • I dont see the big deal with sampling. its taking somthing yoou like and then putting it in something new. besides when people here a sample of something theyll go search it and theyll hear the original

  • @papacrosseye yeah but she should have paid em some of the proceeds

  • byonce perra plagiaria

  • beyonce didn't do the song so shut up people and maybe she didn't know the song

i have just knew the song

  • Well thats the music industry today. Almost every song is a sample of some older song - thats just how it is. Actually thinks its ok - kinda keeps the older songs alive. No need to be pissed :) As someone said - think Chi-Lites godt paid well enough for this sample ;)

  • beyonce never wrote crazy in love. Rich Harrison had it as a demo and showed it to her and then she asked him to write it.

  • @xaniphir hey dumbass if she sampled their stuff they got paid.

  • just because she didnt write the music didnt mean she didnt write the song, she never claimed to writing the music, she herself said it was a sample given to her!!

  • @ashleysimpson91 She does imply that she does orchestrate her hits. Does it make her a talented writer if she writes lyrics like "Got me lookin' so crazy right now"? Is that quality? And she's not even doing THAT.

  • Oh come on, she only sampled a few seconds of the song not the whole thing. People make SUCH a big deal out of nothing. Damn! Seriously grow up! Calling people names is so preschool, and even then it's stupid!

  • @OnyxDragon01 they make such a big deal out of it because the few seconds she samples are far and away the best bits of 'Crazy In Love.' The sample is the hook that everyone remembers, and without it, the song wouldn't amount to much. I still think it's an OK tune and I don't think sampling is inherently evil, but it's a shame that more people don't know the original song - it's amazing. Also, you can bet the original composers aren't receiving the royalties they desreve.

  • she credited them !! and ....

  • Beyawnce said she wrote "Crazy in Love"! She thinks people are stupid and not going to notice her constant lying and stealing! All her songs are written by other people, and she says she writes all her songs. She never wrote crap! I feel sorry for this group! She is getting credit for their song!

  • EXACTLY! Beyawnce says she "Writes all her songs" then she gets caught in a HUGE LIE on Camera... first of all "Crazy in love" is a SAMPLED song by this song from Chi-Lites and That song was NOT written by her... In Fact she has NEVER written a song... it's True she has COUNTLESS Writers and Producers for EVERY song she has Ever put out.. she is NOT an Artist... The Only thing she does is Hop around stage Copying from Great Legends

  • this is a whole lot better than beyonce's "version". beyonce makes claims that she writes all her songs but its the countless writers and producers on her albums that do the real work. not her.

  • She wrote CIL, i can't understand why u trippin!! Are the lyrics the same?? No, only some parts of the beat

  • @HUGOM2C she does not write em all by herself but by the way she talks you would think she writes records produces engineers the whole thing. even setting up the instruments and the mics in the studio too!!

  • all of the pop, r&b, hip-hop, and rock artist sample from old classic songs..... they can sample as much as they want, as long as they ask for permission or pay them money for it.... that's why some new artist get sued because they don't ask or pay the original copy rights for it.....

  • Beyonce made millions from "Crazy In Love" and not one cent went to the Chi-Lites or Creadel Jones, the author until she was sued by the family. They got 390 thousand dollars as the record sold over 19 million. Just keepin it real Beyonce'.

  • Its not Beyonce's fault.

    She didnt sample the record.

Blame Rich Harrison, he was the producer.

  • O.K. He's a scumbag too.

But her name is on it and SHE made tons of money from it

  • wrong again.

Most of the money went to Columbia Records, the label through which the album was released.

Believe it or not, the actual recording artists make very little money compared to the percentage that goes to the label.

I dont know too much about the story behind "crazy in love", but i find it hard to believe that a big label such as Columbia would allow a song to be published without the proper permissions.

  • yea tibble im sure beyonce has two jobs and is just gettin by. these people make millions, dont kid yourself fool, its PLAGIARISM. Music these days.....

  • i didnt say Beyonce is poor. She's very wealthy. But the fact is her label is ALOT more wealthy then she is.

and no its not plagiarism. plagiarism would be attempting to use another's intellectual property without giving credit to the original creator.

Beyonce's album "Dangerously in Love" is sitting on my desk as i type. If you were to look at the booklet, it reads "contains a sample of..."

Proper credit is given to The Chilites. Therefore, not plagiarism.

  • percentages depend on the "artist" and their contract with the label.

so I'm not wrong smart guy.

You think big labels don't steal?

    how naive

you would be suprised at what record labels do to people for a buck.

  • and concerning the relatively low amount of money that went to the Chi-Lites, i agree with you, its a little unfair that they dont get as much credit as they deserve.

    but hey, thats business.

I have no problem with sampling, i consider it its own art form, as do many others.

but the whole business and politics behind the music industry can get a little too shady for me.

  • blame all of her success on her producer too eh?

  • @timmytibble Sure blame Rich Harrison but then give him the grammies too because he wrote the text "Crazy in Love" which is the only original part of the song

  • @timmytibble Oh, so now its the producers fault. Seriously, beyonce said she wrote it.

  • @PIECE2YOURMOTHA

okay. Do you know the difference between a "writer" and a "producer"?

    evidently not.

Beyonce (writer) wrote the lyrics. Rich Harrison (producer) mixed the instrumental.

Usually, the producer is given credit as a "writer" as well, because the making of the instrumental is a creative process worth recognizing.

  • @timmytibble haha, beyonce didn't write the song, she just loves to take credit, she said she wrote and i quote "what 7-8 number ones" with destiny child, in fact she wrote none. Rich Harrison wrote and produced, beyonce just sang.

  • @PIECE2YOURMOTHA she said it .. but she didnt .. look at the WIKI it says she asked the guy to write the song.. which he had already wrote.. the bitch loves taking credit .. but we love her anyway.. no matter who wrote it .. HER VOICE delivers... like AALIYAH. .she never wrote shit ..but we loved her

  • @SuchADamnFreak Speak for yourself, i an't no beyonce fan.

  • @timmytibble NO WATCH THIS VIDEO!!!!!!! /watch?v=vwNpeEFIISo BEYONCE SAIS SHE WRITES EVERTHIG 4 HERSELF SHE SAIS ITS ALL ME THAT DOES DOES ALL MY SONGS EVERYTHING SO WATCH HER. AND SHE STOLE MANY OTHER SONGS

  • @timmytibble yeah what an idiot, nobody would've even heard this tune and quite frankly wasted sample if it wasn't for rich, so shaddap

  • @timmytibble IT IS her fault. Hers and all the record label people's (I've searched: she was the exec-producer; then she was even more guilty). You can sample anything, but clearing it. That's not work of the beat maker (evident). If you can´t clear it, you don´t use it.

  • @timmytibble IT is Beyonce's Fault..If she's a singer she should come up with stuff that is original and not make millions by sampling retro tunes

  • @TheDc316 NO IT'S NOT. Millions of singers do it, its not uncommon so you dont know what you're taling about

  • @BXallday4liffe no...milions of people...cover the songs...that is they do it as a tribute....not take the song..and turn it into their on shit as if they made it

  • @TheDc316 You just dont get the sampling buisness....

  • @BXallday4liffe yeah, but when they sample, they credit the original songs and artists. there's a thin line between sampling and stealing

  • @TheDc316 I made this comment two days ago, no sense on me having to continue to write about this

  • @timmytibble so she she is the artist she has the power to decide which songs she wants to sing.she said it herself "it's all me" quoted she writes her own treatments for her videos, she writes her own songs.as she claims well we all know beyawnce steals people's songs and plagiarizes lyrics.if it was the producers fault then the producers would be sued not the artist cause they composed the music.like bc jean who sued her because she claimed she wrote "if i were a boy".GAGA WINS THE BATTLE!!

  • @reneeLuvmj1 Beyonce was never sued gosh some people are so stupid saying she plagiarizes no she dosnt yall so stupid with this shit the beat maybe the same but there is a reason she has it she bought the rights to it and it is all her she makes it what it is which is a number one hit!

  • she did credit them. its n her cd booklet

  • what a talentless whore

  • @xaniphir beyonces version was ranked 3rd best song of the decade in 2009 ha ha ha ha

  • @xaniphir And guess what the Chi Lites did not write this song so of course they will get no money and that rumor was proven false. People will believe anything, it was a rare thing for an artist to write a song back than...hence why they were always broke. Just because you sung a song don't mean you get any rights to the song.

  • @gurlchocolate Jesus Christ, what are you smoking? A lot of artists of the era didn't write their own songs, but it's probably just as common now as it was then. Plenty of artists wrote their own songs in the Chi-Lites' day.

  • @gurlchocolate .....a rap group used a sample of my friends song and he made millions because it was a hit...My friend was also instrumental in getting back the rights for songwriters who were taken advantage of by "Artists", producers, and record companies...Creadel Jones wrote the original song the sample was taken from. So called "artists" today are always jockin former hit songs because they're a bunch of talentless con-artists and the people that buy their crap are clueless.

  • @xaniphir DAMn how much u wanted them to make, she has to pay the producer the companys, BITCH BOO BYE

  • @xaniphir That just proves that she's a triflin' ass bitch!

  • @xaniphir how you know?

  • @xaniphir why am i not suprised got damn wtf is this bitch's problem every time i turn around this mother fucker has stolen something or copied shit that don't belong to her and then slaps an inspiration label on it, like it wasn't her intentions to steal, no bitch you stole it, so stop with the bullshit innocent acts they're as horrible as your acting skills and fronting like nobody knows that you're a thief already

  • @xaniphir Crazy story, Creadel Jones was my ex girfriend's grandfather...

  • @xaniphir I don't think she was ever sued...

  • @d4c3nt3n0 The Chi-Lites weren't even performing this in their concerts until the popularity of the song took of...

  • @xaniphir the album sold that much not the song....The family shares the publishing with Brunswick and the co-writers.....390,000 is alot...they couldn't take 100% because they only used the horn break first the lyrics or chorus...
