Best performer of rachmaninoff concertos was Horowitz said by rachmaninoff himself.
I'm nearly sure that Rubinstein or any other Chopin player can play better than Chopin himself at least one piece. Like for example fantasie imprompu which he hated.
@elsangonera Chopin composed this pieces but it doesn't mean he can play them the best way. And yeah everyone puts different emotions they feel in the song, everyone has different thoughts and connection to a certain piece.
@develish16 ...but i still have to disagree with you, for some reason, i like kissin not as much as rubinstein, horowitz and rachmaninov. He's a great pianist, but he plays a bit church-a-like, and in the walzes, he don't play them like a enjoyable dance but more like a king marching in. He's outstanding talented and quite young, but for me, he isn't one of the best right now. (but many good things come with the years...)
nice:)

sounds nice, but I usually play it a wee bit slower. Makes it sound more emotionally in-depth

@CarolineTepes From what I have read about Chopin's life, this would not make sense at all. Can you please provide the source of this information?

@ClassicalMusicPL, Rubinstein himself would totally disagree with you.

..mmm the best Chopin music performer wasn´t Chopin...? XD

@elsangonera Perhaps not. Some poets are terrible readers of their own works.
Just because a person made something doesn't mean he or she knows it.
