this was filmed in Roswell New Mexico , Sam Sheperd directed and produced it , it was filmed on the Diamond -A ranch just west of Roswell and I was lucky enough to be a extra in this epic movie about love lost , richard harris was one cool dude as well,

I haft to admit, this is now my absolute favourite movie River Phoenix ever starred in! It's an amazing movie. The dialogue is chilling! River is brilliant! I am so honoured to have this movie,,,

I finally got the vhs tape and watched it for the 2nd time 06-26-10.. the first time i saw it was soooooooo long ago like 1994!!! This movie is haunting and eerie... rivers character is so sad and suicidal he hold gun to his head , and he keeps his wife's Awbonnie's corpse because she died giving birth. Nobody could replace her...The script itself is haunting and the libes are very eerie... its kinda like how i feel about river. i dont want to let him go.... he is sacred.

Parts of this movie were filmed on a ranch right outside Roswell, NM. I was an extra in this movie, and remember the film crew was here a long time bdofe they finally called and were ready to film some of our scenes. Then it was first released outside of the US, France, I heard. By the time they edited it for home video, there were 9 women who lost there scenes in the film. What a disappointment!

lissa, i believe the movie completed filming before he died. it just wasn't released until after he died. if i remember correctly, this one was actually filmed before 'the thing called love'.
