  • how old are most people who take this course? I'd love to become a guide but I don't know if i should get certified after high school or after college etc... anyone have any tips?

  • @ceilingcatdisciple Im only 18 atm, I live in Scotland but I am going too get atleast 2 or 3 winter seasons before I go for my Winter Guiding Award. Hopefully I can get my Mountain Leaders Award next year which allows me too guide during the summer in Scotland which should help me pay for my winter gear and give me more experience etc. But i'd say wait until after college and climb as much as possible so you have alot of experience. Do a course at college which will be suitable to guiding.

  • @ceilingcatdisciple e.g. Anything too do with sports performance or how the body works. I plan too do a sports science course and then branch off into how physical performance is affected by altitude ! Shall be a long road, maybe ten years or more but in the end I want to end up climbing among the giants of the world, In the Himalayas !

  • great overview of all the aspects of being a guide.
