How where you keeping such a good grip on your veil with your zills on? Any tricks or just practice?

hi - good question! Actually since the cymbals are on my thumb & middle finger, it's no problem to hold the veil.

That's because I hold the veil between my index & middle finger (like "scissors"); not with my thumb at all -
