Whilst this album had some pretty catchy hooks and some pretty good songs, I think the biggest suprise was the drastic lapse in quality of the lyrics....from albums with complex and beautiful lyrics which drew in the imagination to the really simple, repetitive (and to be frank quite dumb) lyrics of this album. I remember thinking about how much of a shame it was.

Great video, great song.. the robot voice of the car driver and the kind of bouncy techno backing contrasts superbly with the music and style of the main chorus. I guess she is supposed to represent technology enslaving its maker and then eventually abandoning it. A long overdue call to luddites everywhere. I certainly won't use those self-checkouts in Tescos again after watching this.

Make no mistakes, I LOVE Futurepop and EBM, but as a gothic metal band ToT had MUCH better songwriting, a shitload more musical depth and a style that made them the paragons of a genre. This is a weak imitation of bands like Apoptygma (no wonder the VnV Nation remix was far more played on club playlists than the original song).

Once you build Metal albums you're bound to make "that kind of song" to a specifc group of fans, and that's the problem: you cannot please everybody! Of course, they will please other kind of people but they will also dislike fans. Fans like to hear new songs with the same style, what would you say if Ozzy build an album alike Michael Jackson?
